One of my all time favorite looks is skinny jeans and a t-shirt. I mean, honestly, does it even get any easier than that? Throwing on a pair of jeans and a tee is a go-to combination for anyone and everyone and is really such a blank canvas for a multitude of looks and is really my go-to outfit. Add a statement necklace or bright scarf for interest or layer on a faux leather jacket for edge. Dress the look up with heels for a night out or add your favorite old pair of Converse sneakers for a casual-cool look. Honestly, a tee and jeans is the easiest step towards instant chic appeal.

But let's be honest. Can it really be just any tee and jeans? It sure makes a huge difference when it's your favorite pair of jeans--you know...those ones that don't stretch out, are a perfect fit, AND make your butt look good. Holy grail status jeans--and your perfect tee. That one with the perfect combination of stretch and drape all wrapped up in perfectly pre-shrunken softness. Again--holy grail status. See my current favorite tee here

Once you have your favorite jeans and tee look down it's really easy to build off that with seasonal trends. IE: fringe is HUGE right now, so try swapping out your simple white tee for one with fringe benefits. I'm loving this one from Design History. (It's currently not available online, but see similar fringe tops below.) Or play with color and add a pop with a fall hue like olive or burgundy. For an edgier look swap out your blue jeans for black skinnies. These Citizen's happen to be my holy grail black skinnies. I swear they're like leggings, but better.

The perfect black booties,  a statement necklace, and a classic neutral satchel complete the look!

I'm also really loving Design History. Their pieces really seem to have that classic vibe with a unique twist. You can find them at Saks, Bloomingdale's, Cusp, and Bluefly. Here are some of their pieces I'm loving.
