Gift Guide Under $50 | For Hostess, White Elephant or Home

Happy December, friends! In continuing my holiday gift guide series, I’m sharing some great finds under $50 that would make a fun and festive gift for the hostess, a white elephant party or even just a fun themed gift for the home. Happy shopping and have a wonderful holiday season!

ONE - A copper coffee mug perfect for on-the-go! I’m obsessed with copper anything and I love how these mugs come with a lid for your morning commute. This would be a cute gift with a Starbucks cup or hot cocoa kit!

TWO - These felt ornaments are classic as can be and are currently on sale for $4. These would be so cute tied around a gift bag or as a finishing, holiday touch on a pair of fuzzy slippers, dish towels or a soft blanket.

THREE - I really love the vintage look on these coupe glasses. Perfect for anyone who loves craft cocktails, gin martinis or as an addition to a bar cart. These would be great on their own or with a mini cocktail recipe book like this one.

FOUR - Because a festive candle can do no wrong this holiday season.

FIVE - Add a bottle of wine to this decanter for the perfect hostess gift!

SIX - Or skip the decanter and just give your wine bottle a little festive cheer with this ‘cheers’ wine bag.

SEVEN - This ‘cheers’ weight is another great, festive gift for a bar cart enthusiast.

EIGHT - I adore the amethyst stone on this wine stopper, which is definitely a show stopper!

NINE - How cute is this hot cocoa kit? This would be fun for a white elephant gift, teacher gift—really anyone on your list!

TEN - This cheese platter has the prettiest copper stripe detailing and is a great gift for the hostess—just bring over your favorite cheese & crackers and they get to keep the platter!

ELEVEN - This “Host” cookbook is perfectly fitting for a hostess gift or to pick up for yourself this season.

TWELVE - This is the cutest spice jar and it would be perfect filled with fun tea bags, loose tea or, well spices I guess. 😂

THIRTEEN - Everyone loves snuggling up in cozy throws—especially during this season. These chunky knit blankets are so popular and can be pretty expensive. I found this one on Etsy and you can get it in tons of sizes and colors. The smallest size would be a great throw!

FOURTEEN - I had to include another platter because it’s the season of holiday parties and hosting loved ones and friends. The marble and copper on this one is so pretty.

FIFTEEN - A gift for the wine lover, this 11-bottle wine rack comes in a few metal tones and is such a cool statement piece.

In case you missed it, I also shared my “Classic Gift Guide for Me” on the blog and will have a couple more gift guides up this season! I hope you stop by again and, as always, thank you so much for reading!

Gift Guide for Her | My Classic Holiday Wishlist

classic holiday gift ideas for her

The biggest thing on my wishlist this year wasn’t something you can buy in a store and it’s not something I’m adding to this wishlist. But it is something I’ve been envisioning and dreaming about…and am beyond excited for. It’s a home. Yard space for Benny and Marlo, somewhere light and bright….a place with more space for us to welcome people into. If you asked me over the last few months what I wanted for Christmas, a home, hands-down, would have been my top pick.

…and we found it! We’ve been in a 1-bedroom apartment for the past two years and while we’ve enjoyed our time there (it’s actually where we met!), we are so excited and ready to be in a bigger space. We’re not ready to buy and will still be renting (thank you, Bay Area, for being so. dang. expensive), but we found something with more space for us and the dogs and can’t wait for this next chapter in a place that really feels like our own home.

Since I feel like a lot of my energy has been going towards sending out good home vibes lately, I haven’t even been thinking about other “things” I might want but it’s still fun to get ideas, so I did put together a quick list of a few holiday things. This list does have some higher priced items but I’m genuinely trying to share things that are timeless, things I genuinely love or things that would be a great addition to any wardrobe. Classic items in case it’s helpful to get ideas for your mom, sister, bff—or you!

Without further ado…here’s…

The Top 10 Classic Things on My Holiday Wish List

  1. To Give Back - I know it’s not a typical thing to put on a holiday gift guide but I’ve been looking for ways to do more and give back and one cause really close to my heart is animals. I was on the West Elm site the other day and found a sweet and easy way to do just that this holiday season. You can buy any of their West Elm x ASPCA Collection and $1 of your purchase will go directly to the ASPCA. The ornaments are really adorable and would be perfect for any animal lover you know or to simply snag something sentimental for yourself this holiday.

  2. Low-Heel Booties - I’ve been trying to streamline my closet lately and have noticed I have tons of booties with 3+ inch heel heights and fewer low-heeled styles that are actually wearable in my everyday life. I still love having a slight heel because I think it tends to look more flattering, but, basically—I need something classic that goes with everything and can bridge the gap between day and night. Sound familiar? Enter the M.Gemi Corsa. These come in several colors and leather/suede options but my favorite is the Mocha Suede. They’re just over 2” which I think is a good in-between.

  3. A Designer Bag - This is a SPLURGE and somewhat unrealistic with a new house, but a girl can dream. I generally purchase within the $150-$300 price range when purchasing higher-end bags but this Chloe Tess Shoulder Bag might be my next dream bag.

  4. Skincare - Sunday Riley Good Genes has truly transformed my skin. Before I started using this product, I honestly wasn’t comfortable going makeup-free. It’s pricey but so worth it. I will gladly accept this for any holiday or birthday and I think it’s a great gift item for a beauty lover—even in a gift set like this one available HERE and HERE which is under $30! You will notice results within the first week, so a smaller size will do.

  5. Perfume - When it comes to gift giving, can you ever really go wrong with perfume? Aerin Beauty Rose de Grasse perfume by Estée Lauder is the most gorgeous, amazing scent I’ve ever smelled. It’s a pricey one and the gorgeous bottle would make a great git. They also have this perfume set, which would be fun.

  6. High-Quality Travel Bags - What’s more appropriate this holiday season than a gift geared for travel? I’ve been swooning over everything Cuyana for a few years now and love this overnight bag and leather travel case set.

  7. Cashmere - I always love having classic sweaters to reach for and a gift doesn’t get much more luxurious than cashmere. I love this Cashmere Crop Mockneck from Everlane and it’s a brand that’s really transparent and admirable. The $100 price point doesn’t hurt either.

  8. Candles - There’s not much better than coming home after a long day and lighting a candle—especially during this season. I adore the scent of this Babe Soy Candle in Rosa from Anthropologie. It’s a subtle floral that’s a little rich but not overwhelming and makes the perfect hostess or holiday favor.

  9. New Sneakers - I love my Nike sneakers and typically get a new pair to workout in every year or two. I’m due for an update and love the colors available in this Nike Free style.

  10. Soft Nude Flats - I practically live in flats and they’re what I wear most for work—even into the colder months. I know these aren’t practical for colder climates but I’ve been eyeing these Via Spiga loafers for a while—and they’re currently on sale!

I hope this was a helpful or interesting read to get you geared up for your holiday shopping and I’m wishing all of you a very happy Thanksgiving, safe travels and a wonderful holiday season!

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Gift Guide for Her - Under $50

Gift Guide for Her under $50

Next up in my holiday gift guide series is a Gift Guide for Her under $50! I wanted to include an assortment of pieces you could gift to almost any lady on your list, whether it's your mom, BFF, mother-in-law, coworker—really anyone! And I kept it under $50 because I think it's a bit more relatable and realistic for real life.

Beauty Gifts for Her

For an easy beauty buy, I love Dior Lip Glow. I have it in 001 Universal Pink and it's a natural, balmy pink that's supposed to color-adjust to your own unique chemistry making it goof-proof in terms of color selecting. I also love the Urban Decay Naked Basics eyeshadow palette because it really is basic and is another one that's universal. The color "Naked 2" is a great crease color and is pretty much the one and only eyeshadow I wear! And, every girl needs a beautyblender and if you don't have one—you're missing out!! I also really love the look of nude, clean nails and while a bit pricey for nailcare, Perfect Formulas Gel Coat is the absolute best of the best.

You can't go wrong with something cozy and these bear bootie slippers are too cute, cozy and cuddly. I also love the classic color of this plush scarf and would kill to cozy up in this fleece throw blanket from Urban Outfitters

Cozy Gifts for Her

For the home, I think pretty candles always make a great gift and you can't go wrong with a cute clutch or wallet or something for the bar cart!

Gift Guide - For Home

gift guide for home

Happy holiday season! I can't believe it's already December. This year has flown by and we're back to holiday style posts and gift guides. You guys really enjoyed my Gift Guide for Me, so I wanted to do another one with my Gift Guide for Home. I moved into my new apartment last year and have been slowly but surely filling it with all my favorite things, i.e., making it a home. I feel like I'm in a constant state of having things on 'my list', so I thought it'd be fun to share some of my current favorites/general gift ideas for the home. I hope it's helpful!

A few things on the list?

Coffee/tea anything! I think I've shared before I was on a tea kick after switching from coffee to green tea a few years ago. Well, I'm back on coffee and have found myself reliant on the coffee station in my apartment complex, morning trips to Starbucks, and most recently, instant coffee packets—which I'm not hating on, sometimes you just need to be caffeinated in an instant. BUT, I think it's time to get my very own big-girl coffee machine again and am absolutely loving copper touches. How cute is this Technivorm Glass Coffee Maker from Williams Sonoma? This Cuisinart Coffee Maker from Sur La Table is also super affordable—i.e., under $100! Don't miss an extra 20% off with code GIFT17. It comes out to just over $70.

Gifts for the Coffee Lover

I think I've also mentioned how terrible I've been at keeping plants alive. Why I didn't get my grandma's green thumb, I'll never know and still cry about to this day. I've been trying to add more 'fake life' as I like to call it to my apartment and particularly love this cute faux fiddle leaf fig tree. It's so easy to grab some sort of terrain gift for the home and they're so very 'on-trend' that I thought something 'green' would make a great gift.

Gifts for a (not-so)Green Thumb

Moving on to the bar area, I've been wanting to try a wine purifier for a while and thought it would make a great gift. From what I've heard, the sulfites (or preservatives) in wine are what can cause allergic reactions like flushing, congestion, hives, etc and (though I don't think it's proven) maybe headaches. I love wine but do often get that next-day headache even after just one glass. I know organic wines are supposed to help but I've also had my eye on a purifier to filter out the sulfites from any bottle. I thought this could be a great gift for a wino—or someone who wants to be but can't hang, ha!

As always, I also still have a bar cart on my list and I love the classic yet antique-y mix of wood and brass on this Mid-Century Bar Cart from West Elm

Gifts for the Bar Cart

Finally, in the unique/random/miscellaneous category...I've mentioned I'm recently very into candles and used to sort off loathe receiving them but now I'd take 100. Consider giving the gift of a good-smelling home with an electric diffuser—be sure to include a few scented oils! I also thought this Planter Phone Dock was just really cool, unique and most importantly, useful.

Miscellaneous Home Gifts

Whether these are a gift for a loved one, a white elephant or a gift for you (I won't tell), I think there's something for everyone. What are you still shopping for this season? I'd love to know.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your week!
