For beach days and breezy nights, this midi sundress is a must.

I have this silk slip dress and it’s equal parts sexy and effortless.

For an upcoming vacation, this midi dress shows the perfect hint of skin—on the back!

Anything off-shoulder is always on-trend for the warmer months. Try a ruffled style for feminine flair or this one for something classic and simple.

Another vacation favorite, this cotton dress is sweet as can be—I love the detailing.

Simple and laid-back, this t-shirt style midi dress is a great comfy way to test the midi trend.

February Trunk Club

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

I got my second Trunk Club Trunk last month and my Stylist, Lauren, nailed it. If you’re interested in scheduling your own Trunk, you can use this link to be paired up with Lauren. I scheduled mine to come every two months but you can select your own shipment preferences. To find out more about Trunk Club and see my first Trunk, check out THIS POST.

To be totally honest, I was a little hesitant to start because I’m pretty particular and have also been trying to shop and spend less. But I found myself shopping less in between each Trunk and Lauren helps me build up wardrobe staples and also try a few things I wouldn’t normally. I also love how you can see your Trunk before it ships and make any requests or changes. It’s fun because she also includes outfit pairings within each Trunk AND shares how things can work with items you kept from your previous Trunks.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already saw me rave about this floral wrap bodysuit. Unfortunately, it’s almost gone but I highly recommend keeping an eye on it and I’ll be sure to update with any restocks!

I’ve told Lauren date night style is something lacking in my wardrobe and I absolutely adore both the classic fit and feminine silhouette of this top. It’s beyond flattering and I love how it can serve so many purposes from work to play, season after season. How cute would this look paired with cutoff shorts and strappy sandals this summer? It’s a great price at just $45 and I have it in an xs. Be aware, it’s pretty open in the front but I found it easy to sort of tuck it to keep it in place.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Lauren also sent this ALLSAINTS striped knit top and it’s incredibly soft and tucks beautifully into high rise jeans. To be honest, it’s more expensive than I would prefer to spend but I can also see this working for every season and I’d truly rather splurge on quality and make purchases that will last, rather than having multiple striped tops that fall apart.

I told Lauren I’d be interested in some Topshop jeans, since I love how they fit. She sent two super skinny styles (which I love) in an Indigo wash and a pair in dark blue that almost looks like faded black. They’re both high rise and fit tight all the way through the ankle. This style instantly makes me feel more feminine and somehow put together. These do run a bit small, so if you’re in between sizes, I would size UP. I’m in a 25.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

I also paired the striped top with this BlankNYC suede skirt Lauren sent. It’s funny because I was actually wanting a classic, neutral skirt so I was really excited to see this one. Unfortunately, this ran a little big but Trunk Club let’s you easily exchange, so I’m awaiting a smaller size.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Lauren sent these Sam Edelman knee high boots which I didn’t initially think I would like but they ended up surprising me. I didn’t end up keeping them mainly because they were a little big and not something I felt I needed in my wardrobe at this time.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Before my shipment, I told Lauren I loved this plaid trench coat and I was happy to see it in my Trunk! It’s a classic style I feel good in and often find myself needing something lightweight to layer over sweaters and basics.

February Trunk Club | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Lastly, I told Lauren I’d love to see athleisure pieces in my Trunk and she sent so many things that were literally on my own “need” list. I kept a new pair of Zella high waist leggings in black to replace a couple worn-out pairs, as well as this Ultrasoft Recycled Pullover Hoodie. It really is incredibly soft and I actually wanted something exactly like this for morning walks with the dogs. I love how it has thumbholes, a hood and a pocket.

A few more things not pictured that were included in my Trunk:

Zella Ultrasoft Recycled Jogger Pants

Zella Twist Cowl Neck Pullover

Beyond Yoga Lounge Around Jogger Pants

Beyond Yoga High Waist Midi Leggings

Have you tried Trunk Club? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experience. Again, you can be matched up with my Stylist, Lauren, by using this referral link.

As always, thank you for reading!

Striped Button Down with Moto Jacket

Striped Button Down with Moto Jacket

Tariq and I went out for dinner and drinks on Friday and it was SO damn windy (and just a little bit freezing), so I’d like to apologize in advance for these…um, very winded, slightly blurry, kind of funny-faced photos. I swear I was happy. 💁‍♀️

This was an incredibly easy look for an impromptu date night, made up of items most of us probably already have in our closet: the classic striped button-down (button-up?), dark wash denim, black booties and a moto/biker jacket. This look truly takes you from desk to dinner with ease. Keep a moto jacket on-hand or in your car and you can easily swap out your blazer or office cardigan.

These are one of the Topshop jeans I got in my Trunk Club (blog post coming soon) and I can’t get over the super skinny, flattering fit. Fyi, they do run a bit small/very skinny, so you may want to consider sizing UP! Here I’m wearing my normal size but easily could have gone one size up.

I know we’re heading into spring but I also highly recommend these Marc Fisher ankle boots (from my first Trunk Club) if you’re in need of a really good pair. Sometimes I’ve disliked black booties in the past for making an outfit feel…clunky? Not as sleek?…but these are a winner. They’re just cool-as-can-be and give a really sleek, chic vibe with any outfit. You guys know I’ve been all about adding higher quality wardrobe staples to my collection and these are definitely one of them.

Heading into spring, I love this exact same outfit with light wash boyfriend fit jeans (like these Levi’s), nude flats and swap out the striped shirt for crisp white! So maybe it’s not the exact same outfit but it’s an easy variation.

My exact J.Crew shirt is old (gotta love a closet staple you get years out of 🙌🏼), so I’m linking dupes!

How to Wear a Striped Turtleneck

How to Wear a Striped Turtleneck | www.girlmeetsgold.com

You guys know I’ve been all about curated a capsule wardrobe lately: shopping less, buying with intention, wearing more of what I own. One of those wardrobe staples/must-haves is easily a striped knit top. With so many variations, I think it’s smart to have this style in a few silhouettes. One style favorite? The striped turtleneck.

If you want a quick way to look and feel Parisian chic, a striped turtleneck is your new best friend. It’s an effortless staple that not only keeps you bundled up in colder months but transitions beautifully into warmer weather. Think white denim, cropped denim and espadrilles…the options are endless.

Here I tucked mine into these ripped Levi’s jeans that are ultra flattering. A high rise style definitely helps make tucking a breeze and I love how clean and polished a full tuck looks. I slipped into these black Marc Fisher ankle boots but a pair of loafers in cognac or nude would really pull the look together into spring.

FYI, my exact top is a couple years old from Madewell but there are plenty of perfect dupes out there to recreate the look and I linked several below.

I topped the look with a felt hat but you can again take the look into warmer weather with a straw boater hat!

Here are a couple more looks you can create with the striped turtleneck:

If you’re going to San Francisco....

5 Things to Do in San Francisco | www.girlmeetsgold.com

...be sure to take a jacket!

5 Things to Do in San Francisco | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Living in the Bay Area, there’s certainly no lack of things to do. Whether you head north to Napa Valley, explore the city or visit the East Bay, you really have a vast array of options. From beach days to nature hikes; city life to wine country. It’s honestly an incredible area I truly feel lucky to both live in and be from.

Growing up in the suburbs of the East Bay (about 25 miles outside San Francisco), a trip into “the city” was always a treat and something I was able to start doing “on my own” in high school. We would take the train in for a shopping trip in Union Square. In college, we’d meet “in the city” for drinks when everyone was back home. And in my few single years after college, it seemed like the only place to meet people was “in the city.”

Fast forward to now and I started going “into the city” less and less. Call it having less free time or more “wanting to spend your free time with Netflix, your dogs and a murder documentary” but, somehow, over the years, it happened.

But on a Saturday in the middle of February, after almost a month of rain and being cooped up inside, Patricia Nash Designs inspired me to take a trip...into the city.

Aa a brand inspired by discovery, Patricia Nash values both wonder and wander and her designs are inspired by her own travels, memories, people and places she cherishes. With meticulous craftsmanship and loving design, her handbags, footwear and accessories are perfect to take you through your own everyday travels and adventures. Plus everything in between.

For me, a day trip to San Francisco entails plenty of walking. I’m sure you’ve all heard of its infamous hills. I slipped into these Fia Loafers for the first time and was instantly amazed at their level of comfort. Memory foam flats? Yep! Memory foam flats that feel like you’re walking on a cloud. We were able to walk through the Marina and uphill through Pacific Heights with ease.

I also took along her Raffia Meldola Satchel which is both spacious and beautifully crafted with unique details. I absolutely love the acrylic tortoise-shell-effect handles. It also has plenty of pocket space, along with a detachable strap and scarf.

Of course, if you’re heading into the city, layers are a must. San Francisco and the entire Bay Area is made up of microclimates, meaning you can go from cold to hot to windy and pretty much everything in between. Keep in mind, the closer you get to the water, the colder it can be. Overall though, San Francisco weather is pretty mild.

We spent our day in the Marina, grabbed coffee, picked up flowers, meandered up through Pacific Heights and caught a tiny bit of the Chinese New Year parade all while enjoying this beautiful city and each other’s company. And it was glorious.

And without further ado, whether you’re a Bay Area Native like me or visiting this city by the Bay for your first time, here’s 5 things to do in San Francisco…

No. 1 Meander Through the Marina:

If you’re looking for a place to start in San Francisco, try the Marina. You can catch a picturesque view of the Golden Gate just as easily as you can grab coffee and brunch, pick up fresh flowers and do some boutique shopping. Make your way up towards Pacific Heights and The Presidio for quintessential SF mansions and city views.

No. 2 Bike Across the Golden Gate:

Everyone should do this at least once. We did this for my 27th birthday to check something off my bucket list and it was truly an exhilarating feeling and incredible experience. It’s easy to rent bikes from plenty of places, depending on how far you feel like biking. Tip: once you head across the bridge, grab a drink in Sausalito and take the ferry back. Also Tip: the bridge is incredibly windy. Why I didn’t realize this, I have no idea. It’s San Francisco.

No. 3 Play Tourist at Fisherman’s Wharf

If you took the ferry back from Sausalito, you’ll end up at The Ferry Building at the Embarcadero. Brave the crowds and play tourist. With Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf, you’ll have plenty of water (or seal) views. Tip: this is also a great area if you want to spend a rainy day indoors. There’s both the Exploratorium and Aquarium. You can even go to Ripley’s Believe it or Not and the Wax Museum if that’s your thing. Or, grab clam chowder and a lobster roll at Hog Island or Pier 23 plus an Irish Coffee at The Buena Vista. You’ll also be really close to Ghirardelli Square. You can catch a cable car and take it all the way to Powell Street.

No. 4 Go Shopping in Union Square

If you took the cable car from Fisherman’s Wharf, you’ll find yourself hitting the end of the line at Powell Street and the heart of Union Square. Take some time to meander through Westfield Mall or simply walk up towards Union Square for a day of downtown shopping.

No. 5 Take in the SF Views

For when you’re just in it for the #PhotoOp, San Francisco has plenty of places to take in the views or get a gram-worthy shot. Try Twin Peaks, Hawk Hill, Alamo Square, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Kirby Cove for a swing that overlooks the Bay, or grab drinks at a high-rise like Top of the Mark or The View Lounge at the Marriott. End with dinner at The Cliff House or Waterbar.

As always, thank you for reading. Have you spent time in San Francisco?

XO Tyler

Spring and Vacation Buys from the Shopbop Buy More, Save More Sale

Spring and Vacation Buys from the Shopbop Sale | www.girlmeetsgold.com

The other day, I shared wardrobe essentials from the Shopbop Buy More, Save More sale and today, I want to share styles that would be perfect for vacation and/or to get a head start on spring and summer shopping. I can’t stress enough how great of an opportunity this is to purchase those higher quality pieces that will last and last. It’s the sale I’ve snagged a lot of my favorite footwear in, bought several designer bags from and, of course, plenty of denim. With warm weather and vacations on the horizon, I thought it would be fun to roundup some must-haves. At the very least, their Vacation Shop is a great place for warm weather inspiration.

Wardrobe Essentials from the Shopbop Buy More, Save More Sale

Wardrobe Essentials from the Shopbop Buy More, Save More Sale | www.girlmeetsgold.com

If you’ve been following along on my blog for a while, you know I’m always a huge proponent of taking advantage of major sales to make some of my best investment purchases. I can’t tell you how many of my favorite wardrobe staples were bought during the Shopbop Big Event. And how many of them are items in my closet I still wear, still reach for over and over, year after year. I absolutely adore Shopbop because they truly have high quality brands that offer really timeless staples. Are a lot of their items extremely high priced? Yes. Would I spend $200 on a t-shirt. Never. But what I will do and have done year after year is utilize this Buy More, Save More sale. sale to stock my closet with essentials. From some of my trusted, go-to brands like Levi’s and Madewell to my See By Chloe bags, Vince flats and more, this is THE sale I’ve snagged so many of them in.

Since I still am truly trying to shop less, I’m focusing on wardrobe essentials (with somewhat of a spring-forward twist). I would highly recommend you think of what’s lacking in your own closet and concentrate on those particular items but I personally love adding an everyday, versatile flat or loafer to replace the countless Target or lower-quality brands I have. And I can never say no to stockpiling denim. If you’ve been eyeing a designer bag, this is a great opportunity to snag one. I also shared a post featuring a ton of great spring and vacation buys! 4 Swimwear Styles in Neutral Tones to Try This Season

4 Swimwear Styles to Try This Season | www.girlmeetsgold.com

Whether you’re heading on vacation or prepping for the warm weather season, there’s a swimwear style to suit you. I’m breaking down the must-have styles below!

Strapless

If you don’t bring a strapless swimsuit on vacation, did you even go on vacation? Ok, yes of course you did, but it’s truly a must-have style in any woman’s collection. If tan lines aren’t your thing or you want a style that wears seamlessly under your vacation dresses and spaghetti straps—a strapless or bandeau style is for you. Tip: look for one with a removable halter strap to go from sporty to strapless in an instant. Something without underwire will also be most comfortable.

Sporty

Whenever heading on vacation, I always make sure to bring something that will be both comfy and practical. Leave the strapless styles for sunbathing, something strappy in a sporty silhouette will be your best friend for snorkeling, jet skiing, swimming—and everything in between. Look for styles with thicker straps for added support!

Feminine

For something sweet to pair with shorts hanging by the pool, a flirty and feminine swimsuit will be your best friend. Look for ruffles or sheer details like lace and crochet or try a flirty off-the-shoulder silhouette. A well-placed ruffle or a hint of sleeve can be just the extra bit of coverage you crave. Tip: white makes a tan pop!

One-Piece

One-piece swimsuits have made a major comeback in the recent years. And with good reason. They’re a great way to stay both comfortable and cool and can offer plenty of coverage or show plenty of skin. They can be sleek, chic and classic and still just as sexy (if that’s your thing). Pick your style preference—sporty, feminine or strapless—and I promise you’ll feel confident in this silhouette this season.
