With the season warming up and our trip to Mexico around the corner, I’ve been doing a little bit of vacation shopping and wanted to share some of my personal favorite, must-have finds. While I always seem to gravitate more towards trendy, feminine, flirty pieces in the warmer months, I’ve been trying to keep my wardrobe classic and want my vacation wardrobe to also reflect that as much as possible. Below are six of my must-have, vacation essentials for any warm weather trip!Read More
No matter the season, there’s nothing I love more than throwing on easy staples. While I’m a huge proponent of investing in quality over quantity, sometimes your wardrobe just needs staples that don’t break the bank. Staples you can live in, get dirty in, play with your kids (or dogs) in, workout in—without worrying about wearing them out and spending more to replace them each season.
I know it’s unrealistic to think everyone is able to justify spending $60+ on one shirt and while I know a lot of you appreciate my everyday, “basic” style, some of you do express you’d like to see more affordable options. Today, I’m partnering with Walmart to celebrate fashion for all—at prices everyone can feel good about. Their fresh new spring shop features bold stripes, modern romance and cool cottons but you guys know I’m all about those classic wardrobe staples: my effortless neutrals.Read More
With spring in the air and summer here before we know it, here are the shoe staples to help take you through the seasons.
For desk to dinner (and everything in between), a loafer is truly a classic wardrobe staple you can take from the office to the weekend with ease. You can wear a loafer with trousers or denim in any style but they look great with straight leg styles for a menswear inspired look and feel. A loafer can often require the most breaking in, so I recommend looking for styles that have memory foam if you plan to do a lot of walking in them. This pair, for instance, has been wonderful for me—absolutely no break-in period required. There are also several loafers that convert into a mule!
THE POINTED TOE FLAT
After too many years despising this not-at-all “old lady” style, the pointed toe flat has to be my personal preference. Why? Because a pointed toe creates instant length. If you want to feel taller, have your legs look longer and make any outfit look crazy chic, a pointed toe should be your go-to. The most feminine of all the flats, these can help give a looser denim style (like a boyfriend jean) a little more structure, whereas a rounded toe can sometimes make an outfit feel—for lack of a better word—dumpy! A slingback style is also the perfect way to merry a flat with my second favorite—the mule!
Aka the flat with no back! This versatile style is perfect to take you all the way through summer. Equal parts stylish and breezy, they’re easy to slip on and look great with denim, dresses and even more casual outfits like shorts. Think of them like the close-toed version of a sandal. A mule or slide is the effortless style you’ll want to slip into in the warmer months—when you still need to hide your toes.
THE SLIDE SANDAL
Swap your everyday flip flops with this sandal—the slide—for an instant update to your summer style. A slide sandal gives your feet a bit more coverage and I personally find them incredibly comfortable in comparison. These are great to throw on with denim, dresses and shorts and are a must-have for vacation. It’s also easier to find slide sandals with a little more support than your average flip flop. This brand walked me all over Mexico last year and took me through summer with comfort and ease. I will never stop raving about them! I plan to purchase backups!
THE LOW-HEELED SANDAL
If you’re someone who feels pain even at the thought of heels, a low-heeled sandal with a block heel is a must in your wardrobe. You’ll want to have this style on-hand for spring events like Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day, graduation parties, weddings and more! Tip: look for one in a neutral tone that most closely matches your skin tone for a leg-lengthening effect. Bonus—they’ll go with everything! Dresses in every color, from maxis to midis to minis. This pair from Madewell is my personal favorite!
Tell me—what’s your favorite style for spring?
As always, thank you so much for reading!
Quality over quantity has been my motto lately and with spring (kind of) officially in the air, I’m taking this approach with me into the new season by focusing on building a spring capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is essentially made up of style staples you can easily pull together and mix and match with ease.
On a personal level, I know I feel anxious seeing my closet full of seasonal trends that may not have stood the test of time or didn’t last across multiple seasons. So my goal for a spring capsule is this: investing in basics I feel confident in. Less trends, more easy-breezy style staples. Creating a closet you can pull from to easily create looks you feel confident in. Isn’t that what shopping should always be about? Finding pieces that “spark joy”?
For me, I know I always feel my best in casual-chic basics with a flattering fit and feel. I also adore finding pieces with some sort of twist and tend to gravitate towards feminine styles more heavily in the warmer months. You’ll find me in wrap silhouettes, touches of floral here, lace and ruffles to name a few.
I want to start sharing more of what I have my eye on and a few things I’m currently loving for spring include: light wash denim especially in ankle lengths which looks really great with spring slides, fitted knits in neutrals and stripes, breezy white tops and neutral shoes in styles like loafers and slides. I really love having these classic basics you can literally throw on to feel put together in an instant. The beauty of a capsule wardrobe is that everything works together!

What are you hoping to add to your spring and summer wardrobe this season?
As always, thank you so much for reading!
Spring is almost here and while we’ve been lucky to have a taste of spring weather (hello, 70 degrees!), there’s still a little layering to be done this season. Having styles for these transitional months is essential and I absolutely adore pairing flirty, feminine dresses with edgy layers and details. You may remember this floral midi dress I snagged in my first Trunk Club and it’s such a sweet staple. I personally love having midi dresses in my collection because they’re versatile and flattering and can easily bridge the gap between seasons.
This particular style is definitely one you can wear in the spring and summer months with strappy sandals and wedges, as well as into fall and winter with cozy cardigans and outerwear. I added an edgy vibe with a moto jacket here but a denim jacket would work well for spring, as well!
I love how this midi dress has subtle puff sleeves for interest plus the perfect slit placement, so it doesn’t become too dowdy which a floral, long-sleeve midi dress can definitely do. It also nips in at the waist just enough.
I can’t wait to keep this dress in rotation for spring and summer. It’s a great little staple to have on-hand for casual days, date night and special events. Think Easter, Mother’s Day, weekend brunches, weddings, bridal showers, etc! For reference, I’m 5’6” and have the xs.
As always, thank you so much for reading!

From mini to maxi, wrap silhouettes to ruffles and everything in between, a little white dress might be the biggest style staple for the spring and summer season. What’s your personal favorite style?
I got my second Trunk Club Trunk last month and my Stylist, Lauren, nailed it. If you’re interested in scheduling your own Trunk, you can use this link to be paired up with Lauren. I scheduled mine to come every two months but you can select your own shipment preferences. To find out more about Trunk Club and see my first Trunk, check out THIS POST.
To be totally honest, I was a little hesitant to start because I’m pretty particular and have also been trying to shop and spend less. But I found myself shopping less in between each Trunk and Lauren helps me build up wardrobe staples and also try a few things I wouldn’t normally. I also love how you can see your Trunk before it ships and make any requests or changes. It’s fun because she also includes outfit pairings within each Trunk AND shares how things can work with items you kept from your previous Trunks.
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already saw me rave about this floral wrap bodysuit. Unfortunately, it’s almost gone but I highly recommend keeping an eye on it and I’ll be sure to update with any restocks!
I’ve told Lauren date night style is something lacking in my wardrobe and I absolutely adore both the classic fit and feminine silhouette of this top. It’s beyond flattering and I love how it can serve so many purposes from work to play, season after season. How cute would this look paired with cutoff shorts and strappy sandals this summer? It’s a great price at just $45 and I have it in an xs. Be aware, it’s pretty open in the front but I found it easy to sort of tuck it to keep it in place.
Lauren also sent this ALLSAINTS striped knit top and it’s incredibly soft and tucks beautifully into high rise jeans. To be honest, it’s more expensive than I would prefer to spend but I can also see this working for every season and I’d truly rather splurge on quality and make purchases that will last, rather than having multiple striped tops that fall apart.
I told Lauren I’d be interested in some Topshop jeans, since I love how they fit. She sent two super skinny styles (which I love) in an Indigo wash and a pair in dark blue that almost looks like faded black. They’re both high rise and fit tight all the way through the ankle. This style instantly makes me feel more feminine and somehow put together. These do run a bit small, so if you’re in between sizes, I would size UP. I’m in a 25.
I also paired the striped top with this BlankNYC suede skirt Lauren sent. It’s funny because I was actually wanting a classic, neutral skirt so I was really excited to see this one. Unfortunately, this ran a little big but Trunk Club let’s you easily exchange, so I’m awaiting a smaller size.
Lauren sent these Sam Edelman knee high boots which I didn’t initially think I would like but they ended up surprising me. I didn’t end up keeping them mainly because they were a little big and not something I felt I needed in my wardrobe at this time.
Before my shipment, I told Lauren I loved this plaid trench coat and I was happy to see it in my Trunk! It’s a classic style I feel good in and often find myself needing something lightweight to layer over sweaters and basics.
Lastly, I told Lauren I’d love to see athleisure pieces in my Trunk and she sent so many things that were literally on my own “need” list. I kept a new pair of Zella high waist leggings in black to replace a couple worn-out pairs, as well as this Ultrasoft Recycled Pullover Hoodie. It really is incredibly soft and I actually wanted something exactly like this for morning walks with the dogs. I love how it has thumbholes, a hood and a pocket.
A few more things not pictured that were included in my Trunk:

Tariq and I went out for dinner and drinks on Friday and it was SO damn windy (and just a little bit freezing), so I’d like to apologize in advance for these…um, very winded, slightly blurry, kind of funny-faced photos. I swear I was happy. 💁♀️
This was an incredibly easy look for an impromptu date night, made up of items most of us probably already have in our closet: the classic striped button-down (button-up?), dark wash denim, black booties and a moto/biker jacket. This look truly takes you from desk to dinner with ease. Keep a moto jacket on-hand or in your car and you can easily swap out your blazer or office cardigan.
These are one of the Topshop jeans I got in my Trunk Club (blog post coming soon) and I can’t get over the super skinny, flattering fit. Fyi, they do run a bit small/very skinny, so you may want to consider sizing UP! Here I’m wearing my normal size but easily could have gone one size up.
I know we’re heading into spring but I also highly recommend these Marc Fisher ankle boots (from my first Trunk Club) if you’re in need of a really good pair. Sometimes I’ve disliked black booties in the past for making an outfit feel…clunky? Not as sleek?…but these are a winner. They’re just cool-as-can-be and give a really sleek, chic vibe with any outfit. You guys know I’ve been all about adding higher quality wardrobe staples to my collection and these are definitely one of them.
Heading into spring, I love this exact same outfit with light wash boyfriend fit jeans (like these Levi’s), nude flats and swap out the striped shirt for crisp white! So maybe it’s not the exact same outfit but it’s an easy variation.
My exact J.Crew shirt is old (gotta love a closet staple you get years out of 🙌🏼), so I’m linking dupes!
As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful week!
