One of the hardest outfits for me to style tends to be a look for date night, especially in the fall and winter. I'm super casual and often have a difficult time finding the perfect bridge between casual and effortless comfort plus date-night ready style. But one thing I always, always rely on—for date night or really any night—is a great pair of jeans. And one of my absolute favorite brands for casual comfort is Joe's Jeans. I just snagged the perfect new pair from Zappos and I am in love. Major #denimmoment for me.

I only just discovered how amazing Joe's Jeans denim really is a few years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I love their premium, true-denim fit and feel and their Icon Skinny jeans will forever be a favorite silhouette. I have a distressed style with a lighter wash that's a bit casual for date night, so I thought this pair of Icon Skinny Jeans in black would be perfect. They are crazy comfortable and the distressing adds just the right amount of interest for a night out paired with a silky blouse, moto jacket and booties.

I also really love the ankle length because it makes them perfect for pairing with booties without having to fuss with cuffing or rolling. For reference, I'm 5'6" and I found them to be true to size!

One last thing to note, I have been hugely impressed with my experience with Zappos. Not only is their selection amazing but their customer service is wonderful, as well.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your week!

Cozy Cream Pullover

If you haven't already heard—this just might be my favorite sweatshirt EVER. I have been wearing this Free People pullover non-stop since I got it and it’s quickly become the one item I reach for again and again. I will literally throw it on when I wake up in the morning and change into it when I get home from work. It’s almost embarrassing how much I wear it yet not embarrassing at all because it’s just. that. good.

I’ve seen this sweater in and out of stock which is why it's taken me a while to get this post up. I didn’t want to share if you wouldn't be able to snag it! But—it’s currently back in stock. Just move fast! I’ve linked it below at as many retailers as I could find but if you can’t snag it—keep checking back! I’ve seen it come in and out several times this season.

It does run a bit big but I went with my normal size (xs) and I love the fit. The cream color and plush feel give it an ultra-cozy vibe and if you get one new sweater this season, let this one be it!

I also love the fit of these Free People Busted Knee Skinny Jeans so much so that I bought them in multiple washes. They're such a steal at $78.

Enjoy the end of your week and weekend and thanks for reading!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday. I have a quick holiday outfit post for you and wanted to share this Madewell tier sleeve sweater. It's the most gorgeous rich, mustard color for the season and I just love the tier sleeves. It's such an easy outfit idea for Thanksgiving or simply a casual fall day. It was a bit warmer here, so I stuck to flats but you could add booties or boots for colder weather and skip the distressing for something a bit dressier.

This sweater does run big, so I went with the xxs. Statement sleeves can be a little tricky to layer with but I added my trusted BlankNYC suede moto jacket draped overtop for a bit of extra warmth and a casual cool vibe. If you pick up one new jacket this season, let it be this one. I swear. It goes with everything.

Black Sweater and Over-the-Knee Boots

holiday style

Happy Monday! I hope you're all gearing up for a great Thanksgiving! I'm getting ready to head south to San Diego for a few days and am looking forward to mild fall temps. If you'll be bundling up, I think this is such an easy look for the holidays or just day-to-day wear this season.

I've been a big fan of dramatic sleeves lately but sometimes bell sleeves can seem overwhelming and hard to wear. Have you tried washing your hands wearing one? It's a no-go. But I love the more subtle sleeves on this Madewell sweater from Nordstrom. I've been slowly adding cozy sweaters to my collection to get me through the winter season and Nordstrom has been my favorite place for both classic and on-trend styles.

The classic neutral (it comes in grey, too!) is an easy base for cozy scarves like this one by Free People. I snagged the grey but it also comes in a gorgeous camel tone.

I paired with a lighter wash denim for a bit of contrast but you could do a grey sweater with dark wash skinny jeans or even add a festive hue like burgundy for a Thanksgiving outfit option. If you need more bundling up for winter weather, I highly recommend this camel coat from my previous post.

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's finally starting to feel like fall around here and we even got a little taste of winter this past weekend. It's crazy to me that some regions are even experiencing snow already. What is the weather like where you live?

While winter is mild here in the Bay Area, you can never be too prepared for drastic temperature changes, which is why I've been prepping my wardrobe with winter coats and accessories and Nordstrom is my one-stop-shop for everything. This Topshop Double Breasted Coat is the perfect classic and timeless style and one of my new favorite winter wardrobe additions.

The camel coat is the epitome of classic but it does also come in navy and black. I love the added touch of the gold buttons and it also has a removable faux fur collar for a bit of extra warmth and a touch of glam. I love how the fit isn't too oversized yet I was still able to easily add a thicker mock neck sweater underneath. I grabbed this coat in the US 2 and it fits perfectly. The $125 price tag is amazing, too!

I kept this casual for day with my Adidas sneakers but it will be perfect with boots through the winter and you can easily layer up with a cozy scarf. This one is my current favorite! It's also such an easy piece to layer over holiday dresses this winter.

If you're looking for something a bit more casual and weatherproof for daily wear, I personally love The North Face. How amazing is this parka? 🙌🏼How do you stay warm this winter season?

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you’re all having a wonderful week. I was able to get away this past weekend for a quick trip to my cabin in Twain Harte. Does anyone know it? I loved the mountain air and cooler (aka sweater weather) temps.

We drove down to Sonora for the day on Saturday and spent the afternoon antique shopping and watching little kids in Halloween costumes at the local festival, which was adorable and kind of hilarious. These photos were taken right before we browsed an estate sale and then headed back to the cabin to build a fire and watch a movie—all in all, my kind of fall Saturday evening!

I loved being able to cozy up in my sweaters all weekend and this ASTR tie-sleeve style from Nordstrom is right on trend. You might remember my try-on in the grey and I couldn't resist the tan for a classic look for the season. I kept my neutrals tonal by topping with this suede moto jacket and added my favorite Madewell Transport Bag for an easy on-the-go day.

If you guys haven't already noticed—I LOVE this little leather bag. It comes in a few colors (like cabernet, blush and black) but I thought the cognac or "English Saddle" would be the most classic and versatile. Though, I really think all of the colors will go with everything.

I've always loved the larger tote versions of this bag yet never pulled the trigger because big bags just aren't my thing. If you prefer more of a hands-free style like me, I think you'll love this little one. The size is perfect for holding your essentials (phone, wallet, keys, snack for me, etc) and I love how you can still hold it like a little tote or wear it draped over your shoulder. I honestly get so frustrated when I can't let a bag hang on my shoulder—anyone else??

I did notice this bag scratches easily, so I definitely recommend adding a leather protectant which I still need to do (#procrastinator) but all-in-all, I still highly recommend it as your timeless staple style.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your week!

Chenille Sweater Weather

Happy Wednesday, friends! We're halfway through the work week and I couldn't be more excited. We've had some slightly cooler weather here lately and while I've never been one to wish away warm weather, I'm really loving the sweater weather vibes.

One of my absolute favorite sweater trends for the season has to be chenille. I love the velvety vibe and how the style really seems to easily make an outfit. I recently grabbed my first new style for the season and it's this BP. Chenille Funnel Neck Sweater from Nordstrom.

This sweater also comes in a charcoal gray and ash pink but I loved the warm tone of this "brown bronze" color. It screams fall and just has a really rich look when paired with your favorite denim, plus I think will be great for the holidays. It has a slightly oversized feel mainly under the arms but I happen to love the silhouette and it still feels shapely and flattering. The funnel neck is also really effortless.

I wore mine with a lighter wash for a more casual day-date look this past weekend but it pairs really nicely with a dark wash for something a bit more dressed up, as well. Did I mention this Free People denim is only $78? 🙌🏼

I'm still not bringing out my boots just yet but I've been loving swapping out my sandals for close-toed styles like slides and loafers. In my opinion, nude flats are a must (they go with everything and make legs look longer), so I had no qualms about adding a new pair to my collection.

These Halogen Sylvia loafers from Nordstrom are my new favorite. I'm not sure if you can tell from my photos but the heel is actually collapsible meaning you can wear them as full-on loafers or slip-on slides. They are buttery soft and I found they didn't have any break-in period. I think they'll also be perfect for both work and play. They come in a ton of color options, including suede styles for the season and I highly recommend them.

I'm in between sizes and I went with the half size up in these shoes and they fit perfectly. In the sweater, I'm wearing the xs.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

A couple weeks ago I went on my annual Christmas-time trip to one of my very favorite places—Carmel! I've been going to Carmel almost every December since I was a baby (probably even before I was born) and it's one of those places that makes my heart happy, especially around the holidays. I swear you could see *THE* actual Santa (like he was the best Santa I ever, ever saw) at the Plaza there. (It wasn't until recently my parents told me he was kind of a drunk).

We spent a day doing what we always do—stopped off for french onion soup at Patisserie Boissiere (the best!) before walking through town and hitting all the cute shops and heading to the beach. It started off a little chilly, but by midday, it was so nice with the sun out. This Abercrombie olive sweater with zipper detail was so soft and cozy and I loved it paired these affordable faux leather leggings and my Steve Madden over-the-knee boots. I still LOVE these boots, by the way. I read reviews about them slipping, but have had zero issues.

You'd think for a blogger I'd be better at taking photos in the moment, but I really tend to forget. Apparently I definitely have a thing for doors and alleyways and can remember to Snapchat my food, though. (eye roll). But I promise Carmel is the cutest little beach town with great shopping, dining and beaches. Have you been?

We, of course, went out for drinks at 3pm and I made everyone take a photo in front of this here Christmas tree. I think I have my mom to thank for this beautiful, blurry snap of my sister and I. If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping in. It's right by Monterey and a quick drive to two more of my favorite places—Santa Cruz and Capitola!
