Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases and Favorites

Happy Friday! If you haven't heard, today is the day the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public, i.e., non-cardholders. I wanted to take the chance to share some of my purchases from the sale.

Last year, my favorite purchase from the sale was my Halogen cardigans. I got one in grey and one in cognac and not a week goes by that I don't wear one of them—even in the summer. They're great for lounging, early morning/late night walks and keeping at the office for a/c temps.

This year, I snagged this BP cardigan in grey and I know it will be such a staple. I already wore it this past weekend on my flight and tossed it on with shorts and even over a romper for dinner out. I got an XXS. I also highly recommend this relaxed grey tee but it comes in tons of colors. Wearing an xs. I also picked up this long ribbed cardigan and can't wait for it to arrive!

Another favorite staple to pick up during the sale would have to be a moto jacket. Even though I have plenty in my collection, I can never resist adding another. This Topshop biker jacket is perfect and I love the dark grey tone. It will go with everything and is a great change-up from classic black or brown. I'm wearing it with the same grey tee and these Hudson step-hem jeans that fit amazingly well.

I can never resist a shoulder-baring top and this Soprano satin cold-shoulder in salmon is a new favorite for me. I always feel like I lack date night tops and this one is great for that, as well as casual days. I wore it to dinner already paired with jeans and my olive Rebecca Minkoff crossbody but it would look so cute tucked into cutoff shorts, as well. I purchased an xs.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the perfect time to stock up on sweaters. For some, they might be "buy now, wear later" pieces but I've already been loving wearing mine with shorts for summer nights. This BP v-neck pullover is a favorite and is SO comfy and soft. I snagged it in pink but I'm also eyeing it in ivory, black and grey—it's that good! Wearing the xxs.

I went a little crazy with my color palettes (pink, black, grey and olive) but I also couldn't resist this Free People pullover. It's the perfect loose knit and slightly slouchy fit, yet it still has a flattering shape and doesn't feel oversized. I'm wearing the xs.

The other cozy cardigan I got was this long ribbed cardigan by Halogen. It's a really great classic neutral and is so cozy. I've already worn this outfit to work (because the only time I can wear my cardigans is in the office with a/c) and I love it. It runs a little big through the back, so I would size down if possible. I'm also wearing these SP Black jeans from the sale and they're just $39.90. They're SO comfy and I love the stretch. Fit tts.

Finally, the black jeans in the majority of these fitting room photos are these Madewell high-rise ripped skinny jeans. The fit is really effortless and easy (if that makes sense) and I love the slightly faded black. They fit tts. I also snagged these Halogen slide loafers and I'm in love. The black is super classic and they also come in tan/wheat. I'm in between sizes and went with my half size up!

I ordered a few more things that are yet to come—see below!—and you can also check out more of my favorites and my post on how I shop the sale along with some of my favorite home decor from the sale!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

UPDATE! I know several of the items from my fitting room photos above have sold out, so I wanted to share more of my favorites that are still in stock. Most of these are items I have or tried on or are just brands I know and love. All really classic additions to your wardrobe and I feel like the majority are pieces that will never go out of style, which is really my goal when I shop the sale. I hope you guys are able to find some pieces you love! Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!

Fitting Room Favorites

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I wanted to take a minute to share some of my recent fitting room favorites with you. You guys seem to love these - is it because they feel the most in-the-moment?

Either way, I love them too. Almost as much as I love this Topshop eyelet sleeve tee. For real. This tee might be my new favorite. I've already worn it several times from date night to work to casual weekend—it's perfect for everything. I like a bit of a looser fit so I went with the US 4. It also comes in black and I currently have it in my cart because it's that good. And I want to pair it with my new olive shorts. If you get one new piece this month, let this be the one.

I'm not a huge dress wearer but I love having easy pieces for those throw-on-and-go summer days. This little French Connection stripe t-shirt dress is just that. It's crazy comfy thanks to its 100% cotton terry material and, hello—pockets. If a dress has pockets isn't it instantly 100% cooler? I thought so. I spent an entire Sunday lounging around in this dress but you could also easily dress it up with some wedges if you wanted to.

Admittedly, I don't normally go for color but there was something about this Topshop embroidered tee I fell in love with. Those little roses, probably? Yes. They actually had it in white but I thought I should branch out just a little, so I went with this pink, which looks slightly brighter & more corally in this photo. I did notice they also have it in black and grey online and I've fallen for the grey. It's a cropped fit but I tend to like shorter silhouettes and it works well with high-rise denim or cutoff shorts for the season. I'm wearing the US 4!

Out of all of these Nordstrom pieces, this Topshop floral wrap dress was actually the only one that didn't come home with me. But I still loved it! I think a wrap silhouette is really flattering on every frame, however, this dress was a size too big on me and I couldn't get past the fit on top. I think the excess material made it feel a little more robe-like than I wanted, especially because I'm so small on top. BUT, I think snagging it in your normal size would alleviate this and it's really such a flirty little number.

I also popped into Anthropologie and grabbed this cute little ruffled cami. I love the rose tone and detail to make it a little something extra than your average camisole. I went with size xs!

Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!

April Fitting Room Favorites

You guys, spring style at Nordstrom right now is insane. I have been obsessing over all the pretty tops and wanted to share my top favorites from a recent try-on. For whatever reason, you guys seem to like these better than any other type of outfit shot, so here goes.

My first favorite is this blush pink J.O.A lace one-shoulder top. One thing I really love is that I don't think I've ever seen another top like this. To start, one-shoulder styles are somehow harder to come by amidst all the cold and off-shoulder styles. Plus, it's obviously the prettiest pink. It'll be perfect for Easter or really any springtime event from day to night. White denim, blue jeans or shorts and sandals. One thing to note—I seem to have to size up in this brand with tops that have a zipper. The xs fit but for some reason wouldn't zip, so I sized up to the small.

You've probably seen this linen cold-shoulder top floating around Instagram and with good reason because it really is the cutest style. It definitely has that oversized feel (I'm wearing a small) but it's so flirty and fun you can't help but feel happy in it, I swear.

I'm also obsessed with this ASTR the Label off-shoulder blouse. This is another one of those styles I don't see much—if ever! It has these split "bracelet" sleeves that are soo pretty and give it this really great breezy and romantic vibe. I'm dying to wear this with black distressed denim and my tassel strappy heels. It comes in a bunch of colors and even prints (like floral!) but I really love the effortless vibe of this dusty blue. I'm wearing an xs.

I can never resist a little white top (see above) and I almost didn't even try this one on because I didn't think it would blow me away but it totally did! It's definitely feminine but somehow also has this casual-cool vibe to it. It'll be amazing with cutoff shorts this summer and i. can.t. wait. Wearing the xs in this one, too, and last time I checked it was 40% off!

What styles are you loving for spring?

February Fitting Room Favorites

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. It's been a while since I've done a fitting room favorites update so I wanted to take the time to do it this week because I found some pretty perfect new pieces.

Everyone needs the perfect white top. Preferably lots of them. With lace. And a peplum. This top has it ALL, you guys, and it couldn't be more perfect if it tried. Hands down my favorite of the bunch, I swear you need this one. I've already worn it with black distressed denim and my favorite suede moto jacket and can't wait to take it into spring. I'm wearing a small here but ended up ordering an xs. You need it. I promise.

Of all the trends happening this past year, my two favorites are easily the cold-shoulder/off-shoulder trend and lace-up details. This J.O.A cotton top has the best of both worlds and is another easy piece to finish out the winter and take into spring. The grey tone is the perfect light neutral and it's easy to dress up or down. Perfect with black denim and a faux leather jacket for night. I'm wearing an xs.

The wrap top is one of those universally flattering styles and I never knew it until I bought my first one last year. It's such a feminine silhouette and I swear it makes you feel instantly pretty. I love the barely there blush tone of this one by June & Hudson. I had to try it on in a medium (shown here) but you can see it's bunching quite a bit, so I ordered an xs. It would be perfect for work under a blazer or layered over a pencil skirt, too.

The side button detail on this Madewell sweater is my favorite and really makes the sweater—aside from the fact that it's actually crazy comfy. I love the "dusty clay" tone and again how perfectly it will transition into spring with white denim. I'm wearing an xs.

Finally, I love a twist on a plain white tee and this one by Topshop has the prettiest lace hem—and sleeves! It also comes in black and blush but I love the white for a twist (and feminine touch) on a classic. I usually size up in Topshop and I'm wearing a US 4 here.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!
