With the start of summer and the temperatures rising, I've noticed I've started taking a break from my sometimes overwhelming statement jewelry. Don't get me wrong, I love a good statement necklace, but they can be really hard to wear, especially in the dead of summer. The last thing I want is a massive bib necklace scorching my neck, whether it makes my outfit or not. So, I've found myself gravitating towards fun and easy to wear pieces that still "make" an outfit, but don't make me feel weighed down and over-the-top in the summer heat.

I recently got the opportunity to try a few pieces from Chico's and their new jewelry collection strikes the perfect balance for summer. This Evelyn necklace just might be my favorite. I love, love, LOVE, the neutrals mixed with hints of gold. There are silk wrapped beads and a handful of sparkly stones giving it a touch of glitz and glam that is still oh-so-wearable for day. It really might be my new go-to summer piece. I'm always looking for bracelets that are easy to stack and I think I found the perfect golden arm party--with a touch of blue--for summer.

Their whole line screams summer with pops of coral and turquoise, fringe, beading, and tassel details. Gorgeous stones and shades of blue evoke a beachy vibe that I tend to crave all summer long. All of their pieces would look stunning against summer whites, which happens to be my favorite summer style. I love the simple and fresh statement the Evelyn necklace creates against this off the shoulder number and that it will look just as pretty paired with a colorful top. It's lightweight, but you can still feel the quality, and I know it's going to be the piece that completes so many outfits all summer long.

I rounded up a few more of my favorite Chico's pieces for summer along with the pieces I'm wearing below.

It has been a week of firsts for me on the blog! My first midi skirt and now my first coordinated set. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to try out these styles, but I'm really glad I finally did. This set from Sheinside might actually be one of my new favorite things. I know, I know. I probably say that a lot. I easily fall for clothes. But I am SO serious about this one. I would probably liken it to a romper in terms of style and ease of wear. You can literally just throw it on and you instantly look put together, but what makes it even better is that you have even more styling options wearing them as separates AND there's no hassle of pulling down the whole thing to use the bathroom, which quite honestly really does deter me from rompers. Anyone else?

Anyway, this one from Sheinside has the prettiest print in a fun and bold color for summer and is a soft and comfy material. The fact that it's under $20 doesn't hurt either. This is my second time trying something from Sheinside and I have to say I'm very happy. Their prices are great and I haven't had any issues with quality. In terms of sizing, I would go with the measurements listed in their sizing guide and if you are in between sizes then size up! The only other thing I would mention is that you just have to factor in that it can sometimes take up to a month for shipping. However, they really do have a lot of great pieces that don't break the bank, which I think is the perfect way to try out new styles and trends! And you can get 33% off your order with code INST33! Woop!

Midi + Floral

So, I have to admit. I don't think I've ever owned a midi skirt before. And to be honest, I'm not a huge skirt wearer in general. BUT, I've always had a huge desire to wear one. Is that weird? I mean they just might be the most twirl worthy skirt there is, right? Well this little organza midi from Chicwish has been the perfect way to test the midi waters and I really do love it. I love the simple silhouette of this one and that it's feminine, flirty, and fun. It has a little structure without being over the top and the simple white gives it endless styling options. I paired it with one of my favorite floral crop tops (sold out, but I linked similar ones below) and it was perfect to throw on with a denim jacket for a casual weekend look. I know we haven't even started summer yet, but I also love that it will transition into fall with a cozy sweater and booties!

One of my all time combinations (besides denim and lace) is leather and lace. I'm a big fan of mixing styles, and feminine and edgy are two of my all time favorites together. Liquid leather leggings and a top with romantic details was one of my go-to's, especially throughout the cooler months, and I love throwing on a faux leather jacket over a pretty blouse, but I don't think I've ever had a piece that did the mixing FOR me. Until now! When I saw this faux leather and lace cami from Jewel Be Mine I was instantly intrigued. I love the edginess of the leather with just a touch of lace and as weird as this sounds, I really think it might be one of those classic wardrobe staple pieces. I initially thought it would be a fun piece to have for a night out, but I was determined to make it work for day, as well. And you know what? It really did work. I knew a denim jacket would instantly tone down the sexiness it gives off, but a simple cardi could do the same. Paired with white skinnies (or even a fun printed pencil skirt) it was perfect for a day of window browsing and wine tasting. It didn't hurt that there happened to be a motorcycle convention and my leather fit in quite nicely. But really--I'm excited to get some wear out of this one!

I also snagged this studded deco necklace (below) from Jewel Be Mine. They have some really fun pieces at affordable prices, and again--a good mix of edgy. classic, feminine, glam. Their clothing is similar with somewhat of a classic "California" vibe and touches of glam and edge. At seriously great prices! My top is only $39!
