Usually, I’m sharing an outfit with a white top and I’m sure you all know that’s my go-to outfit by now. But when I want an easy way to mix things up, I swap out my light wash jeans for black or white denim. I recently pulled out these white Everlane high rise skinny jeans I got last year and they’re a great effortless style for the season. I sized up in them last year and they’re an ever-so-slightly slightly relaxed fit on me. If you want them skinnier, I would definitely stick to your normal size, as they do bag out slightly. FYI, I’m 5’6” and have the ankle length and am wearing a size 26. They’re also a great price at $68!

With white denim on the bottom, the options on top are truly endless. Add white or cream for a flattering tone on tone look, have fun with pops of color and print or, if you’re like me—stick to your favorite neutrals. I added a grey long sleeve knit top for a cooler day but I love this outfit with a black or grey tee, as well. There’s something about adding a blue denim jacket on top that just completes the look, truly making you feel instantly put together. Whether you actually wear it over your shoulders or tie it around your waist, it’s the perfect addition. This one is from H&M and only $34.99. I love the slight crop and it has some stretch to it.

I slid on these white Sam Edelman slide loafers and they’re another style that adds a chic feel to any outfit. I kept things effortless with this Leatherology bag that’s actually a mini belt bag! You can wear it at your waist or slung over the shoulder as I did here. This is an amazing option for travel!

As always, thank you so much of reading and enjoy your week!

If you’ve followed along with my blog and Instagram for a while, you probably know I don’t wear heels very often. Though, let’s be real, of course I love the lift and length they give. What woman wouldn’t? But because heels are generally not functional for my lifestyle, my idea of the perfect heel is one that’s low, practical for both day to night, and—most importantly— comfortable!

You could call me a bit of a low-heeled sandal connoisseur and I was so happy to find this Roxanne Heel by LifeStride from Zappos that checks every single thing on my must-have list: low heel (i.e. under 2 inches 🙌🏼), strappy style (love the double strap) and comfort above all else. LifeStride shoes are on-trend, easy to wear, perfect for 24/7 dressing and affordable. ✔️✔️✔️✔️

They’re all about creating comfortable footwear for every aspect of life, whether that’s work, weekend or everything in between and these sandals truly nail it. They’re cushioned with memory foam for all-day comfort (major yes!) and they’re the effortless footwear staple to take you through the season. I had absolutely no break-in period required and I love how the strappy silhouette can do double duty from dressy to casual, whether paired with dresses and jumpsuits for a spring wedding or denim for date night. Did I mention this pair is only $59.94? That’s an incredible amount of wearability for the price.

I also love the light taupe tone, or "Putty Lotus”, of this pair because it’s a color most people might be missing in their collection. I know I was! These do also come in black but a light, neutral tone always helps create added length down the leg line, which is always my personal preference. Basically, the closer the color to your skin tone—the more streamlined the look! These look great with blue jeans and white denim as worn here for a spring-casual ensemble or throw them on with a little white dress or simple black t-shirt dress all summer long. How cute would this spring look be for a casual Easter brunch?

These would even be great for a casual office paired with cropped dress pants and a chic blazer in the summer months, so if you’re looking for stylish and comfy shoes for work, LifeStride’s Roxanne heel has you covered!

Also, I have to mention I absolutely love shopping at Zappos because they have incredible customer service, offer free expedited shipping and you can often find pieces you love for less. It’s the first place I look when I need last-minute items for a trip or special event because I know I’ll find something great that comes fast and doesn’t break the bank.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

No matter the season, there’s nothing I love more than throwing on easy staples. While I’m a huge proponent of investing in quality over quantity, sometimes your wardrobe just needs staples that don’t break the bank. Staples you can live in, get dirty in, play with your kids (or dogs) in, workout in—without worrying about wearing them out and spending more to replace them each season.

I know it’s unrealistic to think everyone is able to justify spending $60+ on one shirt and while I know a lot of you appreciate my everyday, “basic” style, some of you do express you’d like to see more affordable options. Today, I’m partnering with Walmart to celebrate fashion for all—at prices everyone can feel good about. Their fresh new spring shop features bold stripes, modern romance and cool cottons but you guys know I’m all about those classic wardrobe staples: my effortless neutrals.

I picked up a few new tees, jeans, an on-trend circle bag—even a chic trench coat and every clothing piece was under $30. Some even under $10!! 🙌🏼Did you know Walmart also offers a designer department where you can shop premium brands from Lord & Taylor? I love how you can truly shop high-low. I snagged these Sam Edelman sandals for just $59.50 to add an elevated look to my basics. They’re perfect for spring through summer events like Easter, Mother’s Day, bridal showers, weddings and more! I’m always a huge fan of finding low-heeled sandals for all of these occasions and these ones are incredibly comfortable. I also just saw a brand new pair on the site and absolutely love the look of THESE and they’re only $32!

Walmart offers free 2-day shipping which is incredibly amazing and something I think more brands should offer. It’s truly a one-stop shop and I’ve also found tons of great home staples at affordable prices. You have to check out the new MoDRN line!

Below I’m outlining my favorite wardrobe staple finds from Walmart, along with everything I’m wearing in this post. I found everything runs pretty true to size. These jeans come in several colors and are SO soft, comfy and flattering. I personally love the distressed version but a dark wash is certainly a closet staple and the “Brownstone” color looks fresh for the season.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

WHAT I’M WEARING

Special thanks to Walmart for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

Spring Capsule Wardrobe Staples

From left to right in rows: Striped Top | White Button Down | Nude Thermal | Navy Cardigan | Straight Leg Jeans | Striped Wrap Top | Loafers | White Top | Block Heel Sandals | Nude Bag

Quality over quantity has been my motto lately and with spring (kind of) officially in the air, I’m taking this approach with me into the new season by focusing on building a spring capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is essentially made up of style staples you can easily pull together and mix and match with ease.

On a personal level, I know I feel anxious seeing my closet full of seasonal trends that may not have stood the test of time or didn’t last across multiple seasons. So my goal for a spring capsule is this: investing in basics I feel confident in. Less trends, more easy-breezy style staples. Creating a closet you can pull from to easily create looks you feel confident in. Isn’t that what shopping should always be about? Finding pieces that “spark joy”?

For me, I know I always feel my best in casual-chic basics with a flattering fit and feel. I also adore finding pieces with some sort of twist and tend to gravitate towards feminine styles more heavily in the warmer months. You’ll find me in wrap silhouettes, touches of floral here, lace and ruffles to name a few.

I want to start sharing more of what I have my eye on and a few things I’m currently loving for spring include: light wash denim especially in ankle lengths which looks really great with spring slides, fitted knits in neutrals and stripes, breezy white tops and neutral shoes in styles like loafers and slides. I really love having these classic basics you can literally throw on to feel put together in an instant. The beauty of a capsule wardrobe is that everything works together!

Wardrobe Essentials from the Shopbop Buy More, Save More Sale | www.girlmeetsgold.com

If you’ve been following along on my blog for a while, you know I’m always a huge proponent of taking advantage of major sales to make some of my best investment purchases. I can’t tell you how many of my favorite wardrobe staples were bought during the Shopbop Big Event. And how many of them are items in my closet I still wear, still reach for over and over, year after year. I absolutely adore Shopbop because they truly have high quality brands that offer really timeless staples. Are a lot of their items extremely high priced? Yes. Would I spend $200 on a t-shirt. Never. But what I will do and have done year after year is utilize this Buy More, Save More sale. sale to stock my closet with essentials. From some of my trusted, go-to brands like Levi’s and Madewell to my See By Chloe bags, Vince flats and more, this is THE sale I’ve snagged so many of them in.

Since I still am truly trying to shop less, I’m focusing on wardrobe essentials (with somewhat of a spring-forward twist). I would highly recommend you think of what’s lacking in your own closet and concentrate on those particular items but I personally love adding an everyday, versatile flat or loafer to replace the countless Target or lower-quality brands I have. And I can never say no to stockpiling denim. If you’ve been eyeing a designer bag, this is a great opportunity to snag one. I also shared a post featuring a ton of great spring and vacation buys!
