There’s not much I love more than slipping on a pair of sneakers and still feeling put together. 💯 I always think one of the simplest ways to do this is by pairing simple easy white sneakers with a dress or skirt combo for something that feels casual yet effortless, polished and classic with the right amount of feminine.

I went with a denim skirt for my go-to casual vibe and topped it with this Madewell sleeveless sweater (SO good!) for an easy summer to fall spin. Don't be afraid to go a little out of your comfort zone by trying a denim skirt with an asymmetrical silhouette like this one or look for a button-down feature for an easy way to update your look and add the right amount of interest.

I also added extra interest plus a pop of color to an otherwise neutral ensemble by double knotting a neckerchief around the handle of my bag. You could also tie it around your neck, knit it around your hair or wrap it around your wrist.

What’s your favorite way to wear sneakers? As always, thank you for reading!

Olive Bag for Fall

If you don't already have an olive handbag in your collection, I can assure you, you need one! Consider olive a neutral—it goes with everything! And in my opinion, adding a pop of olive in your accessories is really one of the easiest ways to make an outfit in an instant. The color can take you from season to season but I especially love it for fall.

When I'm looking to add a new bag to my collection, I instantly beeline to Rebecca Minkoff. I don't even want to tell you how many of her bags I own. Her styles are so classic yet on-trend and I love how they usually have an edgy detail like metallic hardware and zippers. The price point is incredibly reasonable for a designer brand and I've found myself buying the same bag in multiple colors because they're that good. I swear.

I recently snagged a new (to me) style from Zappos and it's the Mini Mac. You guys, this bag is so good! A crossbody style will forever be my go-to (being hands-free is a must for me) and I also think it's incredibly effortless. I love how it can easily take you from day to night—her crossbody bags are always what I reach for date night or girls night without fail. It's the perfect size to fit your wallet, phone, keys, lip balm, etc. without feeling bulky.

Zappos has such an amazing collection of Rebecca Minkoff bags (and shoes!) in all different tones and silhouettes but if you don't have a bag in olive, I highly recommend snagging one. Think about your favorite jeans and t-shirt + moto jacket combo. Now add an olive bag. 🙌🏼 Your cozy fall sweaters just got cooler with an olive bag, too. 🙌🏼 For me, I love giving my denim skirt a fall twist with a bomber jacket, booties and, of course, olive bag. What is your must-have bag for fall?

Thanks for reading and enjoy your fall!

Denim Skirt and Sneakers

How do you shop when you're thinking about fall yet it still feels like summer? Personally, I have a hard time buying "summer staples" when we're almost halfway through September yet I'm still not quite ready to give up warm weather styles just yet. We'll be getting 100-degree weather for another month here, so finding transitional pieces is a must.

One of my favorite ways to shop (and dress) during these in-between days is by focusing on pieces I can wear with shorts and skirts now or denim and booties into fall. Adding sleeves to my favorite off-the-shoulder styles has been one easy way to do that. I love this Sun & Shadow top from Nordstrom and the bell sleeves are right on trend. The slightly warmer pink tone is also an easy way to take your summer pinks like coral into fall. I would size down in this one—I'm wearing the xxs.

If you don't have a denim skirt by now—you need one! Seriously. When they came back in style, it brought me back to my high school years wearing them with Uggs (anyone else?), yet I'm really loving how easily they make an outfit and how well they help bridge that transition. When it gets just a little cooler, I'll be wearing mine with cozy sweaters and booties.

I've also been switching out my summer sandals for close-toed styles. Pairing shorts and tees with sneakers, slides and loafers is such an easy way to give your summer look a fall spin. These Adidas sneakers have been on repeat and I love how they go with everything plus give your outfit a casual-cool kick—size down in these.

Topping any look with a bag in a rich tone like cognac is also one of my go-to's no matter the season but especially into fall. I love, love this Madewell transport crossbody and it's another one of those goes-with-everything styles.

Thanks for reading!

White Denim Skirt and Embroidered Tee

Happy Monday! It had almost felt like fall was upon us the last couple weeks and I was just starting to be okay with the idea after seeing all the cute Halloween decor at my trip to Marshall's this weekend, but then we had a 100-degree weekend to put me back in full-on summer mode. It's these transitional weeks though when you're not quite ready to buy fall staples yet don't want to pack your closet full of summer items that can be confusing.

This is the reason I love adding basics to my wardrobe that can go from one season to the next. Though one thing I love even more than your average basic? Basics with a twist. This Topshop denim skirt from Nordstrom is just that. It has the classic fit you love from a denim skirt (so glad denim skirts are back by the way - does anyone else remember wearing them in high school with Uggs? 😂) and I love the on-trend touch from the lace-up detail.

The bright white is a great alternative to classic denim and I love the fresh spin it adds for summer yet it will look so cute with cozy neutral sweaters and booties come fall. This is just one of several skirts I've snagged this season and I have to admit—I love how easily they "make" an outfit.

I find that shopping in the Topshop/Trend section of Nordstrom makes it really easy to find classic, yet on-trend pieces with unique details. This embroidered tee is another basic-with-a-twist I love and is one I've paired with everything from this skirt to shorts to black distressed denim and it will be so easy to top with a cardigan or moto jacket come fall. What pieces are you wearing now and into fall?

This skirt seems to be selling out, so I'm linking a few more favorite classic styles with unique details below.
