I fully believe everyone needs a teddy coat in their collection. They’re definitely a trendy style for the season but it’s also a style you’ll want to pull out each season when the weather changes. Since I snagged a couple low-end styles to test the trend last year, this year I decided to splurge a little on something a bit more high-quality and classic. Enter this perfect Madewell Sherpa Jacket

I absolutely love the silhouette of this one. It’s not overly oversized or too slouchy like some I’ve seen and actually has a bit of structure which, to me, helps it feel a bit more classic. I also love the golden brown tone that adds a rich fall hue to any outfit combination. It’s super soft and the inside is lined with silky fabric. This is truly something I’ve been reaching for morning and night to take the dogs out or just run outside. I even throw it on for extra warmth at my very casual office. It’s just a great casual layer for fall and winter and something you can reach for daily.

I can see this teddy coat looking cute with any color denim (like black for an edgy look) and even a cute and comfy skirt + over the knee boot combo this season. For sizing reference, I’m generally an xs or small and went with the size small.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

The Comfiest Plaid Blazer You Need

Finally found the blazer to make you want to live in blazers. 🙌🏼This Max Studio houndstooth plaid jacket (also in stock HERE) is, in my opinion, a must-have in your wardrobe. It’s the epitome of fall and winter and I’m quickly noticing it makes any outfit look (and feel) instantly elevated. I’ve worn it for daytime, workdays and date night, over sweater tees (like the one here from Anthropologie that’s so good), layered over satin lace camisoles and paired with an olive mini skirt—as seen in my Apple Hill post. It just works anywhere and everywhere. And if you swap out your usual cardigan for this blazer, I swear you will feel so GOOD.

In the past, I’ve thought of blazers as stuffy and stiff, too structured or just not right for my lifestyle. But I was wrong and I have no shame admitting it. I love how this one is more of a slouchy boyfriend style that’s still the perfect amount of fitted and flattering. It’s also a rayon/nylon blend with spandex, which adds the perfect amount of stretch to keep it comfortable. I’ve worn this on car rides and in the movie theater and felt just as comfortable in it as I would have been in a cozy cardigan. That I can promise.

I feel like I’m going way over-the-top hyping this blazer but I just can’t tell you enough how much I love it. And I know you will, too. It’s not stuffy. It’s just really wearable and effortless. For sizing reference, I’m in between xs and small and went with the small, which fits perfectly.

I paired it with black distressed jeans for a more casual vibe here and slipped into these python slingback flats for a little pattern play. Tip when mixing patterns. Stay in the same tones (like the black tones here) and you can’t go wrong.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

One of my most-worn items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been this Treasure & Bond duster cardigan—hands down. 🙌🏼I love having easy, effortless styles I can throw on to feel chic and put together in an instant and I've always said a duster cardigan is the epitome of that. I love the casual-chic vibe of a grey heather tone but you really can't go wrong with black, tan, white—everything.

This one is a one-size-fits-all style and on my 5'6" frame it's a great length to wear with jeans, shorts and even dresses. I've paired this with a white slip dress to give it a casual vibe, it looks great with a black t-shirt dress and is the easiest thing to throw on over your favorite white tank or tee. Here, I layered a lace camisole underneath for a feminine touch and love how the cardigan drapes so effortlessly. This was the perfect look for a day filled with lunch and errands and I love how the cami dresses up your look over a plain white tee. Add sneakers for an extra casual vibe or booties to take the look into fall.

This duster cardigan has truly been the first thing I reach for when I wake up to take the dogs out, when I have my morning coffee on the patio (or couch) and I love it for work when you're in a/c. There's just something about a duster cardigan that's effortless and easy and will surely be a must for your fall wardrobe.

A note on this cardigan: It does have wool in it, so it has a slight scratch when you first put it on but I noticed it softened up perfectly and does not feel itchy. I linked to this exact style plus a few more favorites below.

As always, thank you for reading!

Filling my wardrobe with classic and interchangeable basics is something I'm really trying to focus on lately. I really feel less stressed when I have pieces I consider to be timeless investments that can be worn multiple ways. I feel even better when all of those "investments" are under $100 from Nordstrom.

A basic tee is a must—obviously—but I was incredibly surprised to realize I had not one black tee in my wardrobe—until now. This Madewell tee is a game changer and I've been wearing it non-stop since I snagged it. So comfy and effortless and you can't beat the $29.50 price point.

I've been loving adding skirts to my typical jeans wardrobe and picked up this one by June & Hudson as the perfect comfy basic to dress up or down. I'm obsessed with anything olive and love how it's a tone that works well for every season. It's the perfect piece to pair with literally any color tee topped with a denim jacket (love this one from Nordstrom BP) or dress up with a silky blouse for work or date night.

Bonus points for making skirt wearing SO comfy and I love how you can cinch and tie the waist where you want it. I can't wait to take this one into fall with comfy sweaters.

Lastly, these grey suede midi boots by Steve Madden might be my favorite pair ever. They have that casual-cool thing going on and I love them with skirts, dresses and rolled up denim for a relaxed, cool girl vibe. Snagged these in black too because they're that good.

What are your favorite basics you've added to your collection? I'd love to know!

xx, Tyler

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I picked up two adorable sparkly holiday tanks at Marshall's on Black Friday. I went in for sweaters and OF COURSE I ended up with tanks, but they were too pretty and had the perfect touch of sparkle for the holidays. However, I just couldn't wait to wear them so I decided to try dressing them down and make them wearable for every day. This Cynthia Rowley blouse has the prettiest print and a great embellished neckline with SILVER beading. Now we know I'm all about that gold, but I really do love the silver against the soft blue tones. And then (at the suggestion of some of you lovely ladies) I popped into Target in search of a belt for my holiday work party dress and couldn't resist this glitter bow belt! I'd still LOVE a gold one, but I think it will be perfect with my grey dress...and this top and chambray combo! So, maaaaybe I went a little crazy with the print mixing and sparkle, but then again...maybe not. I think a chambray shirt is a great staple piece that can really help tone down a little pattern play and can make a festive top perfectly casual! And a little camo never hurt.

Keeping on the topic of fall layers, another must, in my opinion, are vests. I have the infamous herringbone and navy striped puffers, but I love the richness that a faux fur vest can add. I snagged this one from T.J. Maxx last year (sorry!) but I linked some similar ones below. I love the minky color and softness of it. It's almost silky and it really does add such a great vibe to any look. Layered over dresses, sweaters, blouses...faux fur vests are really a staple wardrobe piece.

I'm also loving this new top from H&M that was one of the three things that came home with me this weekend. So classic, but has such an interesting asymmetrical scallop detailing. I couldn't find it on their site, but definitely check in store. Like...asap. I'm looking forward to dressing it up with a little sparkle for the holidays.

My favorite and softest black skinnies, a gorgeous Benevolent Jewel, and black boots finished off the look!
