From mini to maxi, wrap silhouettes to ruffles and everything in between, a little white dress might be the biggest style staple for the spring and summer season. They’re the epitome of effortless and make styling a breeze. Whether tossed on with a denim jacket for spring daytime, paired with strappy sandals and a beach bag for vacation or dressed up with wedges for a summer soiree, the little white dress will take you through warmer days with pure ease.

Find the style staples to get you started for the season!

A linen shirt dress is both classic and modest and can do double duty for day to night.

For beach days and breezy nights, this midi sundress is a must.

A wrap dress flatters every frame—truly!

I have this silk slip dress and it’s equal parts sexy and effortless.

For an upcoming vacation, this midi dress shows the perfect hint of skin—on the back!

Anything off-shoulder is always on-trend for the warmer months. Try a ruffled style for feminine flair or this one for something classic and simple.

Another vacation favorite, this cotton dress is sweet as can be—I love the detailing.

Simple and laid-back, this t-shirt style midi dress is a great comfy way to test the midi trend.

What’s your personal favorite style?

’Tis the season for holiday parties and if you’re anything like me—you almost never know what to wear. 😂I typically rely on some combination of jeans + a pretty blouse and if you’re a jeans gal, as well, that really never fails.

Try giving your holiday look a fresh update this year with bright winter white in sheer lace. This Free People bodysuit is the prettiest combination of classic and feminine and just begs to be dressed up with a little holiday sparkle. For something a bit more subdued and edgy, it also comes in black!

I tucked it into my go-to Levi’s 501 jeans but this pairs perfectly with any of your favorite bottoms from denim to dress pants and mini skirts. Hello, cute New Year’s look with a sequin mini. 😍I love how it has a bit of natural looseness at the waist so it gives off that effortless tuck perfectly—without the work! It also has snaps and a thong so it’s seamless and doesn’t disrupt your, ahem, bathroom trips.

For an indoor party (or California winter temps), these Madewell Harper Mules are so perfect. Comfy, easy-to-wear and chic as can be.

Top off your look with festive faux fur—the faux part is most important. I love this one by BlankNYC and it comes in several great colors for the season. It honestly elevates any look in an instant but really looks great dressed up or down. For reference, I’m in the size x-small.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with velvet or sequins and this little & Other Stories bag is sheer holiday perfection. The perfect arm candy to make a statement.

I hope you’re all having a great holiday season and, as always, thank you so much for reading!

I found one of the softest sweaters of the season and it’s this Free People Break Away pullover. I think having a classic grey sweater in your collection is a must—there’s just something effortless about them—but this sweater does also come in a few more fall-ready tones like mustard, olive and a dark, pinky burgundy color that would be great for holiday festivities.

I’ve worn this sweater with my go-to Levi’s 501 jeans shown here, tucked into skirts paired with boots and tossed on over my faux leather Spanx. It’s a really great, versatile piece and I love the mock neck. It does run a little oversized (as most Free People pieces do), but I think it just lends to the lived-in, effortless, cozy look. It also tucks well but looks great left undone, as well.

Whenever I need a quick outfit for on-the-go days, I reach for an outfit combination like this one but now that it’s finally cooling down, I’ll be swapping my flats out for booties!

FYI, this sweater is currently 30% off at select retailers! Check the first two links below. I’m wearing an xs.

As always, thank you for reading!

You know those tops that make you feel feminine and flattered in an instant? That’s wrap tops. Wrap tops do that. 🙌🏼For me, every time I toss on a wrap silhouette, I feel instantly put together and like my curves are highlighted yet in the most effortless and natural way that’s not overly revealing. Subtly sexy—that’s a wrap top.

I love this one from Free People because it’s an ultra comfy knit with a touch of elastane for plenty of stretch. This would be perfect for a busty frame or even nursing. Neither of which apply to me but regardless, I think they’re both key attributes so many women need in a top.

This one comes in a couple other colors (like black and Moroccan spice!) I can see working well for every season. It’s light enough to be a spring staple yet perfect for fall (both day and night) paired with denim (like my current favorite Levi’s worn here), skirts, work pants and booties.

For sizing reference, I’m in an xs and , as always, thank you so much for reading!

Apple Hill + Pumpkin Patch Outfit - Plaid Blazer

fall vibes

apple hill apple donuts

fall style

We had the best time at Apple Hill in Placerville this past weekend and it made it officially feel like fall for me—finally! The sun was shining but the crisp, cool (ahem 68-degree) morning was gorgeous and a 2-hour drive with the sunroof open, winding through Apple Hill gave me all the fall feels I was craving.

I was fairly warned a weekend trip to Apple Hill would be packed and, to be fair, it really was. I think it took us 45 minutes to go the last 1.5 miles but, you guys, it was so worth it. We made it to Boa Vista Orchards and it’s filled with cute little vendors, a market that’s open year-round serving up sweet apple baked goods, ciders, wines and plenty of apple goodies plus a separate deli that serves traditional burgers and sandwiches (we may have started our morning with a corn dog) and, of course, a pumpkin patch. If you’re looking for serious fall inspiration, Apple Hill is it.

They had more apples than I could ever name or remember, barrels of pumpkins, sprawling views of the orchard and a Christmas tree farm, which I would love to come back for. We didn’t end up having time for actual apple picking but it’s on my fall bucket list and, for this trip, we enjoyed the apples, ciders and apple donuts. Tip on the donuts: get a dozen. Take them home, warm them up, thank me later. They’re like apple cake donuts. So. So. Good.

I had several questions about this blazer I wore, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to share details. I snagged this at Nordstrom Rack and it’s selling out in most sizes there but I did find it available at a couple additional retailers HERE and HERE. I adore this blazer and it’s a really soft, comfy fit with plenty of stretch. For reference, I’m normally a xs/small and went with the small which is perfect for a flattering fit with room to layer. If you tend to be in between sizes like that and prefer a relaxed, boyfriend fit or just want something you can layer over sweaters, I’d size UP. I’m 5’6” and it just about covers my butt. I don’t wear a lot of blazer styles but I LOVE this and how it acts like a jacket. I can see this worn so many ways, with jeans, over dresses, for work, paired with bold blouses for the holidays…so, so versatile and I hope you grab it!

I layered this over my new Anthropologie pointelle sweater tee, which I am so in love with. It’s such a perfect piece to layer and the fit is very flattering. Great for tucking and it doesn’t bunch up. Just a seamless fit. To be honest, I plan to only wear this tucked. I’m in an xs. FYI, some reviews say it’s sheer but I didn’t experience that and wore a nude bra.

I tucked it into this Free People skirt and while this exact style is sold out, they have a nearly identical version available without the front zip and it’s just as cute. I’m in a size 2 and wear a 25/26 in denim.

If you’re a Bay Area local, I’d love to hear if you’ve been to Apple Hill! We plan to go back but will definitely consider a weekday if possible!

As always, thank you for reading and HAPPY FALL!

Rose Pink Pullover and Denim Shorts

Summer style doesn't just have to mean short sleeves. Fancy sweatshirts? I'm all about it. Try updating your fall and winter pullovers with a fresh style to pair with shorts for a comfy-casual look for cooler days and summer nights.

I went out of my color comfort zone with this Free People pullover and I'm so glad I did. I had to stop myself from snagging it in the ivory but it's the most gorgeous rosy tone for the season and has the sweetest sleeves. This is definitely a piece you'll wear year-round and I promise this will be your new favorite sweatshirt, both in and out of the house.

I paired it with my new Levi's wedgie shorts and I really love the fit on these. They're high rise and have a slightly longer length, which covers yet still gives you that cut-off fit and feel. For size reference, I am between a 25/26 lately and sized UP to a 27 in these! I love the lighter wash and unique pockets.

I also have to share this little Free People wallet crossbody with you. It's the perfect small bag to slip on for when you don't want to carry much with you. It has slots for your cards and cash and I was also able to fit my iPhone 8 Plus inside. Great for coming summer days and nights!

Thank you for reading!

The Most Flattering Top

spring wrap top
wrap tops for spring
spring outfits
straw circle bag
spring mules
taupe mule sandals

spring shoes

I’ve said it before but I truly think a wrap top is flattering on pretty much any frame. It nips in at the waist and creates that instant hourglass silhouette that, let’s face it—doesn’t every woman want?

I adore this J.Crew wrap top and love how it’s the perfect twist on a classic button-down but even blousier styles are just as flattering. I think knit styles are perfect for added comfort but there's something about a little structure and flounce from silkier styles that make me feel more confident in a wrap silhouette. Do you find this, as well?

I think a wrap top is one of those wardrobe workhorses that you can pull out to pair with jeans for day to date night or dress up with black (or any color) trousers for an easy work-ready ensemble. I added light-wash, distressed jeans to dress the top down but you could also try your wrap tops with dark denim for a dressed-up feel.

As always, thank you for reading!

With the start of summer and the temperatures rising, I've noticed I've started taking a break from my sometimes overwhelming statement jewelry. Don't get me wrong, I love a good statement necklace, but they can be really hard to wear, especially in the dead of summer. The last thing I want is a massive bib necklace scorching my neck, whether it makes my outfit or not. So, I've found myself gravitating towards fun and easy to wear pieces that still "make" an outfit, but don't make me feel weighed down and over-the-top in the summer heat.

I recently got the opportunity to try a few pieces from Chico's and their new jewelry collection strikes the perfect balance for summer. This Evelyn necklace just might be my favorite. I love, love, LOVE, the neutrals mixed with hints of gold. There are silk wrapped beads and a handful of sparkly stones giving it a touch of glitz and glam that is still oh-so-wearable for day. It really might be my new go-to summer piece. I'm always looking for bracelets that are easy to stack and I think I found the perfect golden arm party--with a touch of blue--for summer.

Their whole line screams summer with pops of coral and turquoise, fringe, beading, and tassel details. Gorgeous stones and shades of blue evoke a beachy vibe that I tend to crave all summer long. All of their pieces would look stunning against summer whites, which happens to be my favorite summer style. I love the simple and fresh statement the Evelyn necklace creates against this off the shoulder number and that it will look just as pretty paired with a colorful top. It's lightweight, but you can still feel the quality, and I know it's going to be the piece that completes so many outfits all summer long.

I rounded up a few more of my favorite Chico's pieces for summer along with the pieces I'm wearing below.

Thanks for reading!
