I'm a big fan of neutrals and pastels all year round, but especially during the winter months. There's something so crisp and clean about about a little winter white, grey, or even pastel pink. These Jbrand skinnies are a soft pink that get a lot of spring and summer wear, but I am loving the lighter colors for fall and winter, too. A denim jacket, neutral booties, and a pop of oxblood take this springy look into winter!

Weekends in my book are all about comfort. Honestly, sometimes I don't even change out of workout wear. And I probably didn't even work out. Just sayin. Typically, I'll throw on a pair of jeans and a baseball cap and call it a day, but I think you're kind of winning when your jeans and baseball cap are actually a little bit presentable. Distressed denim + sweater + baseball cap + leopard oxfords = out the door in the easiest casual weekend look.

This Jcrew cap was from last year, but they still have a similar style, or you can check out some of my current faves below. Leopard print and buffalo plaid?? Swooning.

Stripes are definitely one of those staple wardrobe items that every woman should own. From summer tanks, to winter sweaters and vests, stripes really are classic, versatile, and timeless. They're kind of the most basic print you can get and make for a great base for a little pattern play. And the easiest way to jump into some print mixing is with a little stripe on stripe action!

Enter: The striped vest. Puffer vests are EVERYWHERE this season and with good reason. They're comfy and warm (without the bulk of a jacket) and are so easy to layer over any look. They really are a great way to add interest to a simple sweater (or striped top for some pattern play!) I snagged this one from Jcrew last year, and it goes with everything! If you're still on the hunt for a striped vest, check out my picks below or keep an eye out at your local T.J. Maxx or Marshall's!

FYI, snag this necklace (one of my faves to add a touch of sparkle) for 50% off (that means only $19.25!) with code CYBER50 at Benevolent Jewels!

Those Fall Skirts

I'm not gonna lie. I almost cried when when the weather jumped up into the 90's again, but then I remembered that meant I can get just a little more use out of my summer faves, and all was alright. I love skirts for Fall paired with boots or ankle boots and cozy knits and sweaters and while it's not quite sweater weather, this J.Crew striped skirt that was so popular last summer still got a Fall twist with shades of grey. My Abound booties have quickly become a new fave and have been making me feel like it's Fall even when the weather does not. They really go with everything and I love that they dress down a classic pencil skirt and give a touch of edge. I mean... they're just cool right? Seriously, run to Nordstrom Rack and see for yourself. ;)

Out of all the prints and patterns out there, floral has got to be my fave. I always look forward to spring and summer when flowers are flourishing both in the ground and on the racks. I am drawn to floral like a moth to a flame, so when I saw this skirt at Target months ago, I knew it had to be mine. I love the soft peachy-pink color with the pops of blue, the feminine fabric, and swingy silhouette. There's something about a swing skirt that just makes you want to twirl, and I may have done a twirl or two. Or three.

This weather has been a bit confused here in the SF Bay Area, and a few days ago I was enjoying 70 degree weather and gearing up for Fall. When I realized we were back in the 90's I was momentarily annoyed until I remembered that meant I can get a little more use out of my favorite summer staples.

So I threw on my swing skirt, a simple navy blouse, and duh, pops of gold. Even after Fall officially rolls in, I can still see this skirt paired with booties and a comfy sweater, or a cute moto jacket. So it looks like I will be falling for floral and I'm definitely okay with that!
