Holiday Wish List

All I want for Christmas is a little extra gold in my life and I would gladly take it in the form of a little gold druzy and a new Michael Kors beauty. I tried on this Kendra Scott ring last month and fell in love, but couldn't pull the trigger and I've been coveting it ever since. I could definitely wear it every day of my life though, so I think it's a good investment. Sign up for their mailing list to get 15% off! (Ahem--mom? dad? anyone?) ;)

If you're not familiar with H. M. Willow, get in the know! Her bangles are stunning, but I've recently had my eye on her new druzy pieces. I just can't decide if I need a necklace or bracelet--or both!

Finally, is there any reason NOT to want a new Michael Kors watch? I'm going on two years with my favorite Jet Set watch, but I would gladly mix it up with this Lexington

What's on your holiday wish list?

I think what I love most about fall (clothing-wise) is fall layers. Sweaters, vests, cardigans, blazers, jackets. Any kind of outerwear. I think I say this with everything, but I may have found my new favorite jacket, i.e., fall layer. I haven't been to an H&M in ages, let alone a mall, but I popped into one with a friend this weekend and was swooning over gorgeous knits and layers galore. Somehow I walked away with only three things. (I know, I'm impressed.) This jacket being one of them.

It's like almost like a faux tweed and has faux leather piping details throughout. Incredibly classic, chic, and versatile. It's structured, but not stiff or uncomfortable, and is literally the perfect piece to throw on over anything. As if it doesn't get any better, it has an ever so slight peplum. Needless to say, I'm obsessed, and at $49.95 I knew it would be worth every penny.

If you haven't been to an H&M lately. Just go.

I'm a big fan of layers and clothes that have built in layers are an automatic win in my book. This Goodnight Macaroon sweater is really kind of perfect and makes layering a breeze. With a knit sweater attached to a plaid flannel, you get the layered look without the hassles of extra bulk and fidgeting that comes along with it. I love that you get a peek of plaid just at the bottom and sides (and not the back), versus having a collar attached, which always makes me feel a little too preppy for my taste. It's the perfect mix of classic and chic with just a touch of fall.

I paired it with plenty of gold, the most perfect edgy/sweet necklace, and my favorite jeans in the history of ever. Seriously, Jbrand super skinnies are the best jeans ever and I don't know what I'd do without them. If you've never tried Jbrand jeans, you're in luck, because they're on Hautelook today at over 60% off!

Simple Statement

For my first official blog post, I wanted to incorporate some of my favorite things. Denim, tees, and statement jewels. I am the epitome of a jeans girl. Don't get me wrong, I love a pretty and feminine dress, but I just love denim. The ease and wearability, the endless options of dressing up or down...jeans will always be my go-to and lately I've been particularly obsessing over distressed denim. This might sound strange, but I think there's something so chic about... jeans with holes. I love how effortless, yet sophisticated (yes, sophisticated) they are, and how they add instant interest to any look. And one of my favorite ways to style them? With a t-shirt and bling.

For this look, I'm styling my denim with a pretty cotton tee. But what makes this nude/blush tee extra special is that it has the prettiest soft pink blouse overlay, giving it a touch of romance and femininity (which I'm all about in all my looks.) It has the comfort of cotton and the polished look of a blouse, without having to worry about it being too sheer or too blousey.

Of course I had to finish off the look with some statement gold. I love transforming a simple tee and jeans look, and this beauty by Accessory Jane definitely does the trick. I mean... gold. statement. necklace. Come on... it's a winner in my book and I can't wait to see all the ways this stunner can make a statement.

What about you? Are you a jeans girl?
