This summer, I’m trying to say “no” to too many trends and keep my closet as classic as can be. So, easy and effortless outfits have become my favorite summer go-to. I’m not saying I won’t try anything trendy and fun for the season (I love a good printed midi dress or skirt as much as the next person) but there’s something that just makes you feel good when you know your seasonal items are going to last through the season and beyond. And when you can wear them in so many ways. 🙌🏼Read More
I hope you all had an amazing Fourth of July weekend! I spent some time at my cabin in the mountains and it was pretty perfect. A little lake time, wine tasting, mini golf and lots of good food and music. The perfect combination of relaxing and fun and I really wish it could be summer vacation all. the. time.
I snagged this ILY Couture off-the-shoulder recently and I really love it. I can't seem to stop wearing/buying OTS, but this blush one was too pretty to pass up. I love how the sleeves are actually attached separately, which I've noticed really helps keep the whole top in place. A lot of my OTS tops have a tendency to ride up, which is their one (and I swear only) downfall. Perfect dressed down with distressed shorts or up with skinnies and block heels. It also comes in white, blue & black and I have my eye on the black for next time!
With the start of summer and the temperatures rising, I've noticed I've started taking a break from my sometimes overwhelming statement jewelry. Don't get me wrong, I love a good statement necklace, but they can be really hard to wear, especially in the dead of summer. The last thing I want is a massive bib necklace scorching my neck, whether it makes my outfit or not. So, I've found myself gravitating towards fun and easy to wear pieces that still "make" an outfit, but don't make me feel weighed down and over-the-top in the summer heat.
I recently got the opportunity to try a few pieces from Chico's and their new jewelry collection strikes the perfect balance for summer. This Evelyn necklace just might be my favorite. I love, love, LOVE, the neutrals mixed with hints of gold. There are silk wrapped beads and a handful of sparkly stones giving it a touch of glitz and glam that is still oh-so-wearable for day. It really might be my new go-to summer piece. I'm always looking for bracelets that are easy to stack and I think I found the perfect golden arm party--with a touch of blue--for summer.
Their whole line screams summer with pops of coral and turquoise, fringe, beading, and tassel details. Gorgeous stones and shades of blue evoke a beachy vibe that I tend to crave all summer long. All of their pieces would look stunning against summer whites, which happens to be my favorite summer style. I love the simple and fresh statement the Evelyn necklace creates against this off the shoulder number and that it will look just as pretty paired with a colorful top. It's lightweight, but you can still feel the quality, and I know it's going to be the piece that completes so many outfits all summer long.
I rounded up a few more of my favorite Chico's pieces for summer along with the pieces I'm wearing below.
