Vici Striped Sweater Dress and OTK Boots

My first sweater dress of the season is this sweet striped number from Vici. I don’t normally gravitate towards color but the warm tones of this Jamboree Sweater Dress scream fall and I love the feminine yet cool vibe it takes on with the black mixed in. For reference, I’m 5’6” and this dress does run a little short, so I’d recommend sizing up if you’re tall. If you’re petite, this is gold. I’ve also been wearing it over leggings or tucked into jeans, which would be cute for the holidays.

I wore it as a dress with these Linden Faux Suede Boots, which are a steal at just $44. I love how Vici has tons of great fall staples that don’t break the bank and it gives you the opportunity to quickly add a new style to your wardrobe for the season.

I am obsessed with their bags and always grab their backpacks because they’re perfect for travel, work and everyday life. This Brette Backpack is convertible and I love the natural tone—it goes with everything. And it’s just $48. 🙌🏼

You could also wear this dress over faux leather leggings like my Spanx from this post and add black over-the-knee boots and a faux leather moto jacket for an edgy vibe.

As always, thank you for reading and have a wonderful week!

Black Sweater and Over-the-Knee Boots

holiday style

Happy Monday! I hope you're all gearing up for a great Thanksgiving! I'm getting ready to head south to San Diego for a few days and am looking forward to mild fall temps. If you'll be bundling up, I think this is such an easy look for the holidays or just day-to-day wear this season.

I've been a big fan of dramatic sleeves lately but sometimes bell sleeves can seem overwhelming and hard to wear. Have you tried washing your hands wearing one? It's a no-go. But I love the more subtle sleeves on this Madewell sweater from Nordstrom. I've been slowly adding cozy sweaters to my collection to get me through the winter season and Nordstrom has been my favorite place for both classic and on-trend styles.

The classic neutral (it comes in grey, too!) is an easy base for cozy scarves like this one by Free People. I snagged the grey but it also comes in a gorgeous camel tone.

I paired with a lighter wash denim for a bit of contrast but you could do a grey sweater with dark wash skinny jeans or even add a festive hue like burgundy for a Thanksgiving outfit option. If you need more bundling up for winter weather, I highly recommend this camel coat from my previous post.

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Every once in a while I find a couple pieces I *have. to. have*, only to order them and realize they're a bit too short, too tight, too small, too long, too something! I am obsessed with this cozy J.O.A tie-sleeve sweater but when I put it on, I feel a bit drowned by it. Don't get me wrong—it's one of those meant-to-be-oversized styles and I love that but sometimes you just need a little more shape, especially on days when you're feeling the frumps. Is that even a word?

So...what can you do? One thing I love doing with sweaters in oversized styles is pairing them with skirts for the fall and winter seasons. This one worked perfectly to dress down my more fitted Free People skirt, making it instantly more appropriate for a casual fall day. I love the juxtaposition between cozy and fitted and the different textures and details for added interest.

If you have a looser swing skirt, I love pairing them with cropped sweaters that sometimes feel just slightly short when worn with jeans.

Slipping into over-the-knee boots is such an easy way to complete any skirt ensemble and this is my favorite pair by Steve Madden. I bought them during Black Friday last year and they're still a steal coming in at just under $100. I love the fit through the leg line and I've personally noticed very minimal slipping, which is really all I want in an OTK style.

Thanks for reading!
