Jogger pants: the pants you live in every. single. day. Don’t we? They’re the first thing you put on when you change out of your work (or school) clothes, toss them on in the morning to take the dogs out, make breakfast, get the mail etc. and, perhaps best of all, you spend your precious lazy Sunday in them—when you get one. If you’re still reading, then thank you because I’m glad I’m not alone on this. And if you’re not nodding your head, then maybe you need some jogger pants in your life. 😂🙈

I really can’t seem to have enough of this style because they truly get so much wear for me. I’m wearing the Splendid Essentials Field Jogger here. A lot of mine have seen better days and I probably shouldn’t be wearing in public, but it’s always nice to have a quality pair on-hand that will comfortably take you from the couch to a day of errands or even dinner. The key lies in making the look…intentional. Like you know you’re basically in pajamas but you still look good. If I throw mine on with a relaxed (read oversized) tee or sweatshirt, I tend to feel frumpy. And that’s definitely not the goal. So here, I added a fitted thermal top (also by Splendid and so. dang. soft) and layered with a faux leather jacket for a bit of edge but you could also do a denim jacket or military/anorak.

Slip on a pair of sneakers so you can actually wear this for a day on your feet and you’ll be looking cool, casual, effortless and, arguable most importantly,—comfortable!

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Apple Hill + Pumpkin Patch Outfit - Plaid Blazer

fall vibes

fall style

We had the best time at Apple Hill in Placerville this past weekend and it made it officially feel like fall for me—finally! The sun was shining but the crisp, cool (ahem 68-degree) morning was gorgeous and a 2-hour drive with the sunroof open, winding through Apple Hill gave me all the fall feels I was craving.

I was fairly warned a weekend trip to Apple Hill would be packed and, to be fair, it really was. I think it took us 45 minutes to go the last 1.5 miles but, you guys, it was so worth it. We made it to Boa Vista Orchards and it’s filled with cute little vendors, a market that’s open year-round serving up sweet apple baked goods, ciders, wines and plenty of apple goodies plus a separate deli that serves traditional burgers and sandwiches (we may have started our morning with a corn dog) and, of course, a pumpkin patch. If you’re looking for serious fall inspiration, Apple Hill is it.

They had more apples than I could ever name or remember, barrels of pumpkins, sprawling views of the orchard and a Christmas tree farm, which I would love to come back for. We didn’t end up having time for actual apple picking but it’s on my fall bucket list and, for this trip, we enjoyed the apples, ciders and apple donuts. Tip on the donuts: get a dozen. Take them home, warm them up, thank me later. They’re like apple cake donuts. So. So. Good.

I had several questions about this blazer I wore, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to share details. I snagged this at Nordstrom Rack and it’s selling out in most sizes there but I did find it available at a couple additional retailers HERE and HERE. I adore this blazer and it’s a really soft, comfy fit with plenty of stretch. For reference, I’m normally a xs/small and went with the small which is perfect for a flattering fit with room to layer. If you tend to be in between sizes like that and prefer a relaxed, boyfriend fit or just want something you can layer over sweaters, I’d size UP. I’m 5’6” and it just about covers my butt. I don’t wear a lot of blazer styles but I LOVE this and how it acts like a jacket. I can see this worn so many ways, with jeans, over dresses, for work, paired with bold blouses for the holidays…so, so versatile and I hope you grab it!

I layered this over my new Anthropologie pointelle sweater tee, which I am so in love with. It’s such a perfect piece to layer and the fit is very flattering. Great for tucking and it doesn’t bunch up. Just a seamless fit. To be honest, I plan to only wear this tucked. I’m in an xs. FYI, some reviews say it’s sheer but I didn’t experience that and wore a nude bra.

I tucked it into this Free People skirt and while this exact style is sold out, they have a nearly identical version available without the front zip and it’s just as cute. I’m in a size 2 and wear a 25/26 in denim.

If you’re a Bay Area local, I’d love to hear if you’ve been to Apple Hill! We plan to go back but will definitely consider a weekday if possible!

As always, thank you for reading and HAPPY FALL!

Dressing for comfort is easily my favorite kind of style. There's something about throwing on my most flattering jeans and slipping into sneakers that makes me feel like I can tackle the day and it's a combination that's quickly taken over my wardrobe. If an outfit makes you feel put-together, cool and comfortable in an instant—you can't beat it.

For me, pulling off the athleisure trend without feeling frumpy is all about having a few elevated staples. You know—that tee that doesn't have stains, holes and permanent wrinkles, your favorite jeans that suck everything and make your butt look good, a splurge-worthy crossbody bag and a cool pair of kicks. These Keds Ace Sneakers are the epitome of casual-cool and will easily keep you on your feet all day long—from walking the dogs, running after little ones or spending too much time in Target.

I've teamed up with Zappos.com and I genuinely cannot say enough good things. I bought these Keds sneakers on a Tuesday, they arrived the next day, and I paid zero for that 1-day shipping. They also have amazing customer service and a 365-day return policy which truly comes in handy when your time is precious.

I haven't stopped wearing these Keds since the day I got them and I love how they're super simple without any overly trendy details. There's a reason you've seen them on the feet of women for 100 years—they're simply classic, timeless style with everyday comfort. And with so many styles to fit your needs for under $80? That's a win in my book.

For this look, I slipped them on with high-rise jeans with a "Mom" feel and added an effortlessly soft tee and faux leather jacket for added coolness. If you grab your go-to bag (mine is always a crossbody and a circle style is right on trend), you'll be ready for wherever the day takes you but these leather kicks also make your lived-in joggers and a denim jacket look stylish.

As always, thank you so much for reading,
