How do you shop when you're thinking about fall yet it still feels like summer? Personally, I have a hard time buying "summer staples" when we're almost halfway through September yet I'm still not quite ready to give up warm weather styles just yet. We'll be getting 100-degree weather for another month here, so finding transitional pieces is a must.

One of my favorite ways to shop (and dress) during these in-between days is by focusing on pieces I can wear with shorts and skirts now or denim and booties into fall. Adding sleeves to my favorite off-the-shoulder styles has been one easy way to do that. I love this Sun & Shadow top from Nordstrom and the bell sleeves are right on trend. The slightly warmer pink tone is also an easy way to take your summer pinks like coral into fall. I would size down in this one—I'm wearing the xxs.

If you don't have a denim skirt by now—you need one! Seriously. When they came back in style, it brought me back to my high school years wearing them with Uggs (anyone else?), yet I'm really loving how easily they make an outfit and how well they help bridge that transition. When it gets just a little cooler, I'll be wearing mine with cozy sweaters and booties.

I've also been switching out my summer sandals for close-toed styles. Pairing shorts and tees with sneakers, slides and loafers is such an easy way to give your summer look a fall spin. These Adidas sneakers have been on repeat and I love how they go with everything plus give your outfit a casual-cool kick—size down in these.

Topping any look with a bag in a rich tone like cognac is also one of my go-to's no matter the season but especially into fall. I love, love this Madewell transport crossbody and it's another one of those goes-with-everything styles.

Thanks for reading!

xx, Tyler
