A Classic Outfit for Spring: J.Crew Sweater Blazer + AGOLDE Jeans

I don’t know what it is but I find my style tends to be the most “classic” in the springtime. Don’t get me wrong, I always love a classic wardrobe but I tend to gravitate towards edgier styles in the winter months, feminine pieces in the summer, while spring has me at my most casual chic. I think it has something to do with finally being able to shed heavier layers and slip into lighter styles that are less bulky, more effortless.

To be honest, I was never a huge cardigan lover until I discovered the right silhouette. For me, that means styles that are a little more chic than slouchy. Something that has a bit of shape and doesn’t just hang. And I find styles that are a cross between a jacket, a coat, a blazer and a cardigan fit that perfectly.

Enter: the sweater blazer.

I first fell in love with this style when I picked up the J.Crew Ella sweater-blazer this fall and winter season. Donned “the coatigan” it quickly became one of my favorite layers to toss on with everything. And it just felt chic.

Because I lived in this silhouette all season long, I knew I wanted to update my layers with something similar for the new season. This J.Crew Juliette sweater blazer comes in several classic colors and the ivory tone was the perfect addition to my collection—like nothing I have.

I absolutely love the fresh feel it adds to my spring wardrobe but I can definitely see this cardigan being a staple across many seasons. Summertime with shorts and tanks, layered over dresses…even back into fall and incorporated into winter white looks.

It really adds a polished feel to work outfits yet the drape-front makes it relaxed enough for every day. For sizing reference, I’m in the xxs which is a size down from my typical size xs in other brands. I do also have the Ella blazer in an xxs though I think that one runs a bit larger. You could probably get away with your normal size in the Juliette, especially if you’re hoping for a relaxed fit.

I paired it with a sweater tank in the same color for a tonal outfit and slipped into these AGOLDE Riley jeans that have become an instant favorite in my denim collection. I’ve always been a Levi’s lover and while this pair is similar to my Wedgie and 501 jeans, I really love how the AGOLDE jeans have a slightly higher rise that’s super flattering and makes tucking a breeze. I think it can be difficult to find denim that fits hips/thighs/rear yet still nips in at the waist and, personally, this pair nails it for me. For sizing reference, I’m 5’6” and did size down one size for a tighter fit. I’m normally a size 25 and have the 24. I think you could do your normal size if you want a slightly relaxed, mom jean feel.

Lastly, I added cap-toe slingback heels for a polished feel. This pair is a great price at $59.90 and I love classic-feminine, almost Parisian-like vibes they add to any outfit. For sizing reference, I’m between sizes (8 and 8.5) and went with the 8 since they don’t offer half sizes. I think if you’re a true half size I might consider sizing UP. They were comfy out of the box but I did notice some toe squishing by the end of the day.

As always, thank you so much for reading!
