With many of us staying home in loungewear and comfy clothes (myself included), I know a lot of us are seeking a sense of normalcy right now and that often includes dressing up and sticking to a routine. While I’m not quite at a place where putting on jeans every day sounds appealing (and that’s okay), I am happy to have a wardrobe full of staples I can rely on when I’m ready.

It feels a bit bizarre even posting and sharing shopping tips, sales, guides or favorites during this time. And to be honest, I also haven’t felt a huge desire to even shop right now. Is anyone else feeling that way? Beyond this uncertain and difficult climate, I think a big reason is that I’m confused at what I’d even want to shop for. Loungewear? Sweaters? Spring clothes? Do we skip to summer? A month ago I was purchasing vacation clothes and now that seems so…unimportant. But also…strange.

Personally, I’m taking these mixed feelings as a reminder and opportunity to reshift my focus back towards creating a wardrobe I love. And wear. Season after season, year after year. HOWEVER, if you want to buy that fun, flirty dress and wear it around your house all day. Do that. If you can’t fathom shopping for clothes right now. Don’t. If you want to donate to healthcare workers in need. DO THAT. (But actually do that regardless if you can). The point is: there’s no right or wrong way to feel right now.

For me, I’ve shared before that one of the best decisions I made last year (and stuck to) was to shop with more intention. Fewer trends. More staples. Pieces that can do double duty and ultimately make me feel confident, put together, chic…and just good.

A “feel good” outfit looks different for everyone but this one is full of staples I feel good in: high rise jeans in a light wash, super-soft and classic sweaters, chic shoes that make an outfit and an effortless, lived-in blazer.

As always, thank you for reading and sending you all strength, thanks and well-wishes. ❤️
