A Honeymoon in Mexico | What I'm Packing

A Honeymoon in Mexico | What I'm Packing | www.girlmeetsgold.com

We’re going on a honeymoon! We have a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico planned right after our wedding and truly can’t wait.

For warm-weather vacations, I love packing breezy pieces that can mix & match with ease, throw-on-and-go styles that dress up or down, options to keep the arms covered, and just generally comfortable silhouettes. I tend to rely on simple and effortless styles in shades of neutrals but also love mixing in a fun print or detail here and there.

I’m reaching into my closet for many of these but also rounding up some vacation packing essentials on my current Mexico honeymoon/vacation list below.

Slide Sandals

Easy sandal styles to slip on with everything.

Straw Hats

For pool & beach days, lounging and daily walks.

Midi Dresses

Midi dresses for both day and night. I try to pack a few lightweight options with sleeves to keep my shoulders covered.

Something Printed

I adore neutrals but there’s something about a fun print or two that screams vacation.

Non-Denim Shorts

I tend to opt for breezy linens and knits in favor of denim—comfort always wins for me—and styles to throw on with a tee/tank or even slip on with a swim top.

Linen (& Loose) Pants

Breezy bottoms that are comfortable & cool / ideal for day, night or wearing to the pool.

Midi Skirts & Sarongs

Wrap skirts and midi styles paired with a bikini top + styles take from day to dinner.

Basic Tanks

Knit tanks to toss on with shorts, pants or skirts. I’ll pack simple square neck camis in nude, black and white to go with everything & keep things simple.

Linen & Gauzy Tops

I’ll pair these with denim or linen shorts in corresponding neutral shades for a tonal look for daytime.

Little White Dresses

One style I can never resist. Love simple silhouettes or styles with a feminine twist.

Swimwear

My vacation swimwear motto: something sporty, something strapless, something sweet (think off the shoulder or flutter sleeves).

Sunglasses

I prefer to pack a heavier/indestructible style I can easily toss in my bag & wear in the water.

Straw Handbags

I’ll pack a small straw or rattan bag that goes with everything + a larger tote for the beach & pool.
