Jenni Kayne Sweater Coat with Ecru Faux Leather Pants

JENNI KAYNE SWEATER COAT TyLER15

PAIGE FAUX LEATHER JEANS

CHANEL CAP TOE BALLERINA FLAT

POLÈNE NANO BAG IN NOIR

I adore this sweater. Somewhere between a coat and a cardigan, the silhouette is simple yet chic and it’s a cozy-yet-polished piece to take you everywhere. Think the office layered over tops with trousers and slipped on over dresses (aim for one that hits at the same length) or paired with leggings and denim plus sneakers for an off-duty look. An everyday staple and wardrobe workhorse, if you will. I also like how it’s non-bulky and lightweight enough to even layer under coats—like a trench or overcoat for added warmth.

SIZING:

As with most all Jenni Kayne, it does run oversized, however, not overly so. If you’re looking for a Jenni Kayne starter piece that’s a tad more sleek than oversized, this is it. I often size down in Jenni Kayne sweaters but have my “typical” size (xs) in this sweater coat. For reference, I prefer the Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan in size xxs but where an xs/small across most brands. More Jenni Kayne sizing notes here and I’m 5’6” for reference.

While it comes in several colors, black is a classic addition to any closet. Paired with a black long-sleeve tee to keep things tonal on top, I love the look with ecru faux leather pants (these are so comfy, btw) for a simple yet polished feel. I wore this to lunch with my parents in Napa and felt festive and put together for one of my first postpartum outings. You could just as easily wear this same look with blue jeans (of course) or try black denim for a true tonal look. Black slacks would work beautifully, as well, or try an all-white outfit with black layered on top!
